Hang Tang hostel was amazing! Lovely, clean and in a great location just off the beaten path so you could enjoy a good night sleep! For a hostel in China you really could not find better! I highly recommend staying here when you visit Xi'an.

Good place to stay in the middle of xian, about 20 mins walk from train/bus station. Place is very clean tho the rooms are a bit small. Staff are good and there are nightly activities organised you can join in on for free. Would definately stay here again

I would advise anyone to stay at Han Tang. They pick you up from the train station with a clear sign, the staff speak excellent English and are very keen to help, the location is close to the Muslim quarter and the bell tower, the tours are very good (lady Zaa Zaa was lovely and funny), the food and drinks and excellent and the feel of the place is homely and friendly. Stay here!

The staff was extremely helpful with questions I had on how to navigate around the city and which places to recommend. The rooms are very clean and are better than some hotels I've stayed at. Rooms have heating, AC, and small TV. Bathrooms have towels and there is hot water available in the corridors. Lots of places to lounge around and hang out too.

Walking distance to the Muslim Qtr for fabulous street eats and shopping. We did the terra-cotta worriors tour and enjoyed it greatly. Food at the hostel was poor, but there is plenty in the neighborhood. We arrived on the night train - the morning pick up at the station was the BEST part. Rooms were clean, comfy. Pleanty of hot water. Festive lounge area. Rooftop garden lovely. Worth every penny!!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It is near everything and convenient to public transportation. The hostel has a great atmosphere with its 2 different social areas. The rooms are small but clean, the food is great and the beer is cheap. The staff is very nice and very knowledgeable with anything you might ask related to activities in and around Xi'an and travel beyond Xi'an. I highly recommend it.

Friendly, helpful staff. Bustling place with lots of travelers. Great location. Nice, clean rooms. Trip to terracotta warriors and Mt. Hua Shan can easily be done (and cheaply) with public transport. Not for the noise sensitive with slamming doors, continuous coming and going of people and staff cleaning loudly early morning.

Our room was beautiful. they have great location for meeting other people. the food was amazing which is great after being in china for a long time. the place is walking distance from bell tower, muslim quarter and north gate. free pick up from the train and walking distance from the airport bus. I would say its the best hostel we have stayed in asia. Must see in china. also finnish approved sauna and a rooftop patio with free ping pong lessons. Just opened a new place 100m down the street=Cool!

Awesome hostel. A little tricky to find... Don't use the sauna, for whatever reason they keep birds in there :-/

Very good hostel. It had many activities every night. Wi-fi in the room wasn't that great and had several connection issues. We stayed in an ensuite, room was nice. The bathroom flooded after a 5 minute shower. TV in the room was great as it had many channels in english. Food in the restaurant was OK. Walking distance to the main street and attractions. Staff was friendly and spoke good english.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff are helpful and friendly. You really feel at home, the location is great - walking distance to the Bell and Drum Towers, as well as the Muslim Quarter and Grand Mosque. There is public transport is nearby to other sites - and information is displayed prominently on how to get to different sights/sites. I recommend taking the Terracotta Army tour run lead by Jiajia - she runs a tight ship and keeps it fun, other tours are offered, too.

This hostel is the best I have been at. They organize daily activities at night that makes you wanna come earlier just to check what it will be about! The day I arrived they served Hot Pot for free! So you have the chance of taste something that on the street i may not be willing to take! The staff was so friendly! Always smiling and chating. Prices were very fair and the food was good too. The location was excellent and the rooms too!

Great atmosphere. I think having to walk through the bar to get to your room is a genius layout. Rooms were nice. Liked having HBO as many hostels in ASIA lack English channels.. so sometimes when you are travelling just begging in your room with a film is nice.

I only stayed one night but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my itinerary. They picked me up from the train station free of charge and saved me a spot on that day's Terracotta Warriors tour, which was amazing (Zhazha rocks). The dorm was really nice and had a private bathroom. The hostel is also in a great location -- within walking distance to the main attractions.

Great hostel with really helpful staff. All facilities that you need. Bit hard to find so I recommend taking a taxi the first time rather than trying to find it by yourself.
