Great place! Good, cheap food/beer. Good tours. Cool activities. Laundry service. Spacious, clean rooms. Great rooftop lounge area. Helpful, cheerful staff. All around a great place. Also check out a hostel called Shuyuan hostel. They are sister hostels, but Shuyuan is more for the younger crowd that want to have fun. It has a full bar in the basement and is great on the weekends

Good location and the food is pretty good. The drink and food prices are very reasonable. They have different activities every night and they were enjoyable especially hot pot night. The reception people are mostly friendly, although one of them gave me attitude a couple of times that I asked him questions.Another time, I asked directions to the Han Yan Ling museum and I was told the wrong bus # so I was lost for 3 hours standing on a crowded bus so don't always trust the directons they give.

This is a great hostel in a great location in the centre of XiAn and less than a 10 min walk from the Muslim Quarter. A nice touch is the voucher for a free coffee on arrival and the breakfasts are pretty good too. Our room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and there was no noise. Beautiful roof top garden area too.

Hostel rooms are clean, and have large lockers. The the common area is good for meeting fellow travelers. Walking distance to the bell and drum towers, and other sites.

We chose Han Tang Inn because the Hostelworld reviews raved about the Terracotta Warriors guide, Jie Jie. And rightfully so - she was phenomenal. She kept us on track, gave us plenty of time and was hilarious all day. Han Tang itself offered a ton of common area, a good mixture of travelers to hang out with and great breakfasts. The dorm we stayed in was fine - nothing great, but nothing terrible. The only problem was that we couldn't take the free shuttle. It took us 3 hours to find it!

Reasonably good hostel. Staff helpful with providing information, clean, good location close to the centre, easy to meet other travellers over a few beers and games of pool in the common areas, good laundry service. However in my opinion the hostel feels overcrowded for its size...common areas quite small for number of guests, the six bed dorm was cramped and with ensuite meant often waiting to use the bathroom. Staff friendliness ranged from very friendly to bordering on rude!

A very nice place to stay. The staff is very good and helpfull. The food is perfect, the atmosphere is great. Just once, probebly after a long day of hard working, the girl behind the bar lost a bit of her friendly attitude. A place were we'll come back in the future!

great hostel, definitely recommended. only complaints are minor (bathroom flooded bad from shower, they run out of the cheap beer early every night, "muesli" is cheap corn flakes). other than that, place is clean, staff is cool, location is good. enjoyed my time here.

Hostel runs free hotpot night, dumpling night, and has a bar and cafe. Wifi works ok on the ground level. Terracotta warriors tour is pretty good and reasonably priced. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are clean. Staff are all very helpful, and it's all very good for the price that you pay. Location is good, you can walk to the bell and drum towers. Convenience store is close.

Really liked Han Tang Hostel. Clean rooms, comfy beds and decent coffee, its all travellers really wanted and they do all that. Add the most friendliest staff into the mix and you've got the perfect hostel. If you are staying in the dorm on theground floor it can get a bit noisy with all the noise from the bar but besides that - I'd recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Xian in a heartbeat :)

Great location, so close to the centre of the city. Very clean, and a delight to stay there. Only downside for me, was the fact that their internet connection was very poor. In fact I walked to Starbucks, to use their facilities, in the end.

Great, very helpful staff. The only thing I'm a bit disappointed about is the airport pick-up in the morning. I left with two other guys at the same time but we both had a taxi, they could have combined that. It would have saved some money or at least the gas.

Location, Western Breakfast and the Staff were unbeatable. The room was a little small and the shower being part of the bathroom was a slight letdown. However, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone we know passing through Xi'an.

Great hostel, the best I've ever stayed at, common area is big and a perfect way to meet other travelers and make friends. There's a lovely rooftop with table tennis and sauna, and a room with a pool table. We stayed in a 6-bed dorm, and it was nice and clean. The bathroom is good too. Food is nice, and choice is wide. They organize tours to the main attractions, but we didn't go with them, so I can't tell if they're good. 10 mins walk to bell tower. Definetly recommend it to everyone!
