One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Very clean, very nice staff, and a great location, quiet yet close to the lake and its attractions. Good beds, nice breakfast (20RMB), wireless in rooms. 100% recommended!One of the best hostels I've stayed in. West Lake Youth Hostel is a great place to stay if you are coming to Hangzhou. I was a little apprehensive from the previous comments, but this place over delivers. The staff is VERY helpful in tips for local sights and great with helping you plan your next destination (Huangshan & Shanghai for me). The common area is great and fosters communication with the other guests (easy to meet other travelers).West Lake Youth Hostel is a great place to stay if you are coming to Hangzhou. Not a bad location near the lake. The rooms were clean and tidy and staff helpful. Had a room with ensuite. The kids doing exercise next door at the pre-school will wake you up in the morning which is not a problem if you haven't had a big night previously. Not a bad location near the lake. I cannot fault the hostel. It was ideally placed to explore outside the city and has plenty of pubs, restaurants nearby. The staff here were the most helpful I have encountered, the shower & beds were great and I could easily have stayed longerI cannot fault the hostel.
