I love this place, the staff are amazing and I love that they have western people working there. Great location and awesome activities. I did castaways, Mai chau and the buffalo run through these guys and had the most incredible time. Do yourself a favour and stay at Hanoi backpackers.

One of the best hostels ive ever stayed at. If youre unsure of this one or the Original Hostel, definitely stay at Downtown. I stayed at Original for 3 days before staying here and this one is ten times better. Enjoy!

Loved this hostel! Great party atmosphere and easy to meet lots of travellers. The hostel runs a pub crawl at night which is very fun. Drinks at the hostel bar are very cheap, and the food is good too. I did the 2 night castaway tour of Halong Bay and had the time of my life- its lots of drinking, dancing and meeting new people- its a booze cruise with pretty basic accommodation but that doesn't really matter because everyone was partying all night anyway! Highly recommended for party people :)

The wifi was very slow.

Everyone can grab your bag in the deposit room. You get a card which you do not have to fill out and can pick up every bag with this card. No one looks out if this is really your bag. The Wifi is not working at all in the room. You have to get on the floor or to the first floor where it is very loud. The place was clean though and you get to know a lot of people. The prices there are ridiculous though. For example Bus to Dong Hoi costs 35 USD and everywhere else only 15 USD. Do not book anything

Maybe the loudest hostel on the planet. A good place to stay if you're looking to party with a bunch of other foreigners in Hanoi. I heard their other locations are not quite as rowdy. The bar downstairs gets quiet early though (like around 12), but the people don't.

Atmosphere and facilities were overall great but the dorm bathroom had a persistent sewage smell. We also didn't appreciate how the hostel "rationed" the AC by only turning it on after 7-8 pm so that if you were in the room beforehand you were roasting. Considering how much you're paying to stay here that was a bit ridiculous. Also didn't like how you had to pay an extra 20,000 dong if you wanted an extra small scoop of baked beans, two tiny banana slices or bacon with your breakfast.

We stayed in a private room which was really expensive but was nicer than many hotel rooms. The location was an easy walk around Hanoi and near many food stands and fresh beer spots. There were always people in the bar area and always something fun going on. They have great security and are a well run machine. I would recommend their free walking tour as it gave great insight into the city. There is no other hostel quite like it - if in Hanoi you must stay here!

Amazing place to meet people , great staff , great atmosphere. Have recommended to numerous people who all loved their experience too. Didn't feel the pressure to drink or go out - lots of options inside the hostel and around the area if that's not what you feel like doing.

Had a really good stay at this hostel. Excellent bar with great choice of food and drinks. Fantastic atmosphere helped by the large communal areas. Lots of showers and toilets available. Good location. Helpful staff - booked castaway island trip through the hostel and there were plenty more trips to choose from.

Probably one of the best hostels I stayed in, during my time in South East Asia! Fantastic atmosphere, always buzzing, lovely staff, lots of events and activities. Made plenty of friends and would highly recommend doing their Halong Bay castaway tour!!!

Nice staff, breakfast included, clean dorms, showers AC are good, location is excellent - note that it's a party hostel. To be honest it think the music downstairs (in the bar) was way too loud, you couldn't hang out and just socialize without shouting each other in the face. 8 PM feels a bit early for that kind of nightclub-mood!

Amazing hostel. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Something happening every night and the staff do there best to keep the party going. Everyone is super friendly and it's easy to meet others. There's a good common area on the 5th floor with 10 computers, a big screen tv, where can always find someone watching movies and free & secure storage area. Dorms are large, tons of showers and breakfast is either 3 pancakes, 2 eggs & toast or fruit & yogurt. Book early as this place fills up!!!

This place rocks! Staff are awesome, the people that stay are legendary and the atmosphere is quality! Make sure you go on the castaways trip to halong bay! You'll have a sick time. Book in advance to save disappointment. Couldn't over hype this place if I tried! Go go go!!

A must place to stay if you're going to Hanoi. Awesome party atmosphere especially during World Cup.

This is very much a party hostel, as previously stated. The tours are expensive and there is pressure to book there, but the Halong Bay tour that I booked elsewhere for much cheaper was fantastic. Free breakfast is good. The 5th floor lounge is nice, but way too hot and stuffy to truly be comfortable.Free walking tour is great.

We booked the private room on the sixth floor and loved it! The room was clean and organized, the bathroom was spacious (with separate toilet & shower), and we had a great view overlooking Hanoi. The hostel is very social and the staff is super friendly and informative. The front desk takes the time to explain Hanoi and what there is to do. However, if you're looking for great value at a decent price, this is not the place. Our private room was super expensive compared to other locations.
