We had a lovely stay in a private room. Staff were helpful and they organized tge day trip to Tam Coc very well. Great location. Close to the lake and near good places to eat

A bit too much effort is made to make money off of you while you're there.

Stayed here for a total of 5 nights. It is a nice, clean, and social hostel but too expensive for what you get. My locker was broken and the bathroom was not very clean, and my bed light didn't work. Half the staff just drinks on the job and doesn't know all the information they should. For Castaways, think about booking one night at a time. It is a pretty drunk party scene, but fun nonetheless. Staff drinks more than the guests.

More chilled out than the downtown hostel which is a cattle market every night. A very average hostel but it always has lots of backpackers so remains popular and serves a purpose.

Was a party hostel but the bar shut down at 9:30. Free bfast was great. Their tours were quite expensive so book them elsewhere!

Good facilities and clean as you'd expect from a hostel of its size. Great for meeting other travellers but it's more expensive, in everyway, than the other options. If you want to feel like you're in hanoi and not just another large hostel it's probably not for you.

Typical hostel you would expect. It is nice and clean and the rooms are a decent size. It all feels a bit fake though, definitely does not feel like you are in the middle of Hanoi.

Hanoi Backpackers is an efficient hostel that's easy and convenient. Like a lot of the hostels this size it's kind of like a hotel with no personal touch, but the bar and cafe are good places to hang out and meet people. The rooms are clean, safe and secure with en suite showers and toilets. Only downside really is that the backpacker staff are really keen to push their expensive Castaways tour on you, and don't offer much support unless it's a service of theirs explicitly.

The hostel is a good place to start your trip. It is a really social hostel. Don't come there if you want to have a quiet stay because it's quite a party hostel. It's located on a good spot in Hanoi and the rooms are clean.

Decent place to stay with lots of stuff to do here. Quieter than the Downtown Hostel if you want more people and more of a party. Free beer on Sunday is a winner 👍

Mild smell in our room wasn't pleasant, but all in all a good deal. Lively atmosphere. Good free walking tour to get a better idea of the city.

Had a good stay here. Breakfast included, beds are good and showers are hot. We stayed a few days later one night as well, inbetween trips to sapa and halong bay, and we would only sleep in the bed for a few hours and leave very early. Price for the night was the same and the (rude) guy behind the desk would not arrange anything for breakfast. He was only able to say that the kitchen opened at 6.30. I think hospitality is to make an exception sometimes, everyone can chop up fruit right?

Great hostel. Very social, although not as party party as their sister hostel. Cleaners always seem to he cleaning, so they clearly take pride in that. Good location in the old quarter. Definitely recommend for a solo traveller!

The dorm very expensive, the bed not really clean and very smelly . They were very pushy to sell their tour

Good staff, aircon, wifi, lockers, computers, food u can order-- its good becuz its not as party crazy so u can get sleep. But it has a great backpacker/meeting other travellers atmosphere. Other ppl i met wish they were at this hostel instead of theirs! Its also. Ear the airport shuttles.

This is definitely a party hostel so be aware of that when you book! Everyone is really helpful and friendly, everything is clean and it's close to a lot of great sights. The rooftop bar is awesome too and a great place to meet people, but you may regret stepping up there when you find yourself with a hangover for the seventh day in a row - pace yourself.

Nice stay, good midway between party and rest. there is a roof terrace to drink a beer and have some fun and after the pub crawl starts at 21:30 the hostel gets it's rest. so you can choose to go along or just stay at the hostel.

Really good hostel for meeting people, very sociable. Let me leave my bag while I went to ha long bay even though I went with another tour company. Overall a very professionally run hostel which ticks all the boxes
