Stayed here for 4 nights and shared a dorm room towards the back which is good for getting a good nights sleep away from the party goers. Bed was comfy and the location was great tucked down a small road with street food, the lake and everything all close by. Staff are friendly would stay here again
Great place to meet people and helpful staff make planning activities easy
Preferred this one to the Ma May one. Has a bit more of a typical backpacker feel - less massive than the newer one and the facilities are just as nice. Stayed at the Ma May one before Castsaways to meet people and party; then had a more chill time hanging out here on the rooftop bar after Castaways.
Definitely a very social place, very clean and good loction. Grate for organsing on going travels or tours and very helpful staff. Its fairly loud of an evening though with lots of activity so dont get grumpy if you dont get the most solid night sleep, although the beds are comfy :)
My friends and I had a great experience with Hanoi Backpackers Hostel. The Aussies definitely made sure we were entertained. Staff was wonderful and helped us with all our bookings. I liked how we could easily lock up our belongings with the complimentary key they provided. Breakfast is a good touch as well. Rooftop bar was a selling point at first but we were kind of disappointed when we found out how early it closed.
Stayed here for only 1 night before my trip to Halong Bay with them (castaway tour) which was awesome! After I came back stayed fr another night. They organize great parties every night and the staff is really friendly as well! Definitely going back!!
This hotel was in a good location. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Free beer on Sundays helps with atmosphere.
amazing hostel- would definitely recommend! met some amazing people there. good common area. great place to meet people for solo travellers. daily pub crawls. also book castaway tour with them if interested in doing halong bay.
Dorms were very nice - you have your own lamp, lockers and outlet. You meet people here but it caters to the stereotypical drunk British or Australian backpacker. I like to party, but I found that this place was too much. The music in the bar was way too loud way too early and the girls serving the drinks in the bar were so skimpy with the alcohol that you might as well just order a coke instead of vodka coke - it would taste the same. The pub crawl at 9.30 killed the party in the hostel.
Good Hostel in a good location in Hanoi. Definitely one for a younger age range of backpackers due to the various drink promos every night and the large contingent of brits working there!
Very professionally-run hostel. Be aware though that it has a very strong focus on partying - if that's not what you are looking for then a different hostel may be better.
By far the BEST hostel I have ever stayed at!!! This is the only place you should stay in Hanoi. Also their cast away tour is a MUST!!! Absolutely brilliant. Staff are amazing, extremely friendly, helpful and create a great atmosphere to meet new people and PARTYYYY!!! Loved my time here!!!
This isn't the cheapest hostel, but it's absolutely great if you've just arrived in Vietnam. They're really accommodating when it comes to new arrivals, or helping you make sense of chaotic Hanoi. The western food, though relatively pricy, can be a real blessing if you're coming down with traveler's sickness, and the staff usually speaks English and is willing to help you. Great place for partying, or planning party-heavy excursions. Location is nice and central as well.
Dorm room was a bit small, but the hostel atmosphere was really great. An excellent place to meet other travelers.
Great hostel - provided me with everything I was looking for on this trip...A TREMENDOUS TIME!
Amazing hostel to stay in. I have been in booth big and small. Take the halong bay toor! Expensive but worth it. If you don't stay there go to the bar or chill at floor 5. Great bed, it's like they thought about everything.
I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were spotless as I don't know how many people came in to sweep/mop/polish the mirrors every day. They even have a guy that closes the blinds and windows and turns on the A/C every evening. You get a decent sized free breakfast too which is either eggs, pancakes or a bowl of fresh fruit. My only complaint was that after cleaning the room, the door was never locked so anyone could walk in. And banging on your door to tell you about drinks promos non stop kinda sucked!
