100 % value for money! Staff is excellent and arragend our trips to our next destination (Cat Ba) for a very good price: 220.000VND via Hoang Long. The area is not too touristic, but you can walk around and have some coffe or food erverywhere.
We ending up Staying four nights instead of one and even though we had to change rooms the staff came through. The rooms are old but still nice and clean. You can book all kinds of tours in the reception and you'll have a good breakfast menu with western or Vietnamese food every morning. We had a very good time at this hostel!
We stayed here on two very cold and rainy nights. Unfortunately there did not seem to be any heating and the hot water ran out.
The only bad thing - the room had no windows( it's good that you cannot hear the street noise, but if you wanna see the sun in the morning, ask for a room with windows). Great staff. Very good overall.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hanoi city hostel, The staff was very helpful at all times specially Hana":) thanks ". Location was perfect, room and breakfast a very good value for money, Internet at a good speed and tours are a a good price, even better than outside.
Definately good value for money. Staff helpful, but very keen to sell tours, although tour prices seemed good value.
This hostel was a great place to stay in Hanoi - clean rooms, good location (central and next to lots of delicious little Vietnamese restaurants) and cheap! The evening staff didn't seem particularly enthusiastic to be there, but the lady who works in the morning/daytime was so friendly and she had lots of recommendations for food, travel and sights, without trying to push expensive tours on us! Not much atmosphere but would stay here again.
Lovely hostel and lovely staff! Everyone very friendly and helpful! Rooms clean and tidy, and WiFi worked well on each level. We booked a tour to Sapa through the hostel, which we got a better deal than on the tourist desks in the town and a non-pressured sale!
