If you are up for a boozy time it's a good place to go. It's clean and has a party atmosphere. You couldn't really have a late night out without their pub crawls-all pubs in Vietnam close at 12 when they get shut down by police. The downside - I wouldn't advise booking tours or buses with them as they are far more expensive than most. Sinh Cafe is down the road and everything we booked with them has been perfect from Halong Bay to the buses north to south.

Hanoi City Hostel in Hanoi, Vietnam has been the best hostel we have stayed in so far in South East Asia. The room was comfy, clean and cool, the breakfast was delicious and free! However the thing that made it stand out was the helpfulness of the staff. Moon was so friendly and accommodating, she helped us book our Ha Long Bay tour and our onward trip to Hue. She gave us recommendations on where to get the best Pho Bo and Ga and was more than helpful in lots of other small ways. Stay here :)

Nice guesthouse (not a hostel as the name might suggest) in the Old Quarter. Spotless and pacious twin rooms at the front, a decent breakfast, and within walking distance from all the sights. Helpful staff offering good prices on tours and tickets, especially when compared to some of the more backpackery places.

We arrived tired in Hanoi and were delighted to be shown to our room which was big, clean and had a huge bed! Highly recommend this place, the staff are friendly and trustworthy. Breakfasts are simple but nice (and free!) and close walking distance to the lake and good eating spots.

Clean rooms, good bathrooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, located on the northwest corner of old town which is less than central but barely so. staff were very friendly and willing to help in any way possible. not the easiest to meet other travelers if you aren't at breakfast together but this place is more hotel-like b/c of the private rooms. If you're looking for some space, this is an excellent place to be

Very comfortable. Staff is very helpful with booking tours. Breakfast is made to order. Rooms are spacious and clean. However this is not a backpacker hangout hostel.

We really enjoy our time here with Hanoi City Hostel! Hannah and Moon are very friendly and super helpful. They helped us to fix all our problems with our train tickets which we already booked online from railway company.Breakfast was big and very good, the vietnamese coffee for breakfast was so good and nice smell. The room is very cheap at 15$ with the elevator, but we got the exellent service. Highly recommend to everyone!

We had a really good time at Hanoi City Hostel! The atmosphere and the staff was very warm and friendly. Especially the receptionist Hannah was unbelievably nice, always helpful and tried her best giving us the best time in Hanoi. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Also a nice breakfast is included. We would recommend Hanoi City Hostel to every backpacker out there!

One of the best hostels we stayed in during our trip in Vietnam. Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very spacious and they cleaned it every day. Breakfast is simple. We booked a tour to Halong Bay through this hostel and our trip was amazing - boat was super good!

The staff here were extremely helpful and courteous, they always had a welcoming smile on their faces and were very honest. They helped us to not get ripped off by scam artists and were very accommodating to our needs.

Very kind and efficient staff. I had a large single room and bathroom: both were good. It was quite chilly at night and normally the AC units will provide a bit of heating as well as cooling, but my AC didn't work; I did ask at reception but they just said "it doesn't work." Breakfast was rudimentary, and much better at other hostels I have stayed in; said they had "run out of" fruit---but it would be hard to "run out of fruit" in Vietnam.

Probably the most friendly and helpfull staff during our stay in South East Asia. The Hostel is right in the center of everything that you wanna see in Hanoi. The rooms are very clean, there's enough warm water for showers. They book all kinds of Tours, Train Tickets and so on and are very reliable. Highly recommended.
