Two major problems. 1st problem: Hotel staff asked for full payment, including the 20% deposit already paid to hostelworld. Had to point out to them that I already paid 20%. 2nd problem: Stayed one night here, before heading off to halong bay for a night. But when we came back, the hotel said they were overbooked and moved us to another hotel. Problem was that the other hotel was vastly inferior with cleanliness issues. I paid for a 94% rating hostel, but got a 66% rating one instead.

Hanoi culture hostel overbooked so once we arrived they told us we would be moved to posh hotel and they would pay the difference. This review is for posh hotel. No complaints except the walls are paper thin so noise was an issue

Good, clean hostel, very helpful staff, good breakfast. Double rooms are small and clean but not as described on their profile. Rooms on the street side are a bit noisy and cold in the winter. You can book tours but they are quite expensive for what you get out of it. But in general okay.

After seven months of travel, this place is easily at the top of my list. It's clean, spacious, the AC works well, and most importantly, the wifi was CRAZY fast. Staff were great. Breakfast was large and it's nice you can pick as many pineapple, watermelon, and bananas as you wish. Location is very central. I highly recommend.

We all loved our stay! It was such a warm welcome to Vietnam, friendly faces who were always smiling and willing to help with anything. They organised amazing tours to Sapa and Halong Bay for us and we had no problems at all. It was a great place to base ourselves while travelling around North Vietnam. We would all HIGHLY recommend to stay here, you will not regret it and will get everything you need and more!! Thankyou Hanoi Culture Hostel!! We will see you next time we come to Vietnam :D

If I could give the staff a higher rating I would- super hospitable. They stand and smile when you enter asking how your day was- it's like what you expect at a five star hotel but they do it here. This place is more hotel-like. A great free breakfast is included, as well. They can help you book tours or basically anything you need. I have a slightly lower score for safety only because we stayed in a balcony room. It was beautiful, but the lock on the balcony door was not the best.

My friend and I stayed here for a week and overall, found our stay an enjoyable and comfortable experience. However, a lift would have been nice as there are a lot of stairs! The staff were very helpful with the cases though. The room wasn't cleaned as much as we would have liked but the towels were changed often. Just don't drink the beers in the fridge unless you're willing to pay extra for them!

The staff at Culture hostel were lovely. It's a good place for a couple to stay. It's in the old quarter of Hanoi which has many interesting streets.

We stayed at Culture Hostel for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of there way to help us in accommodation when we decided to stay an extra night and they were fully booked. They even helped us with our bags to walk there! The hostel is located a good walking distance from the lake and there are heaps of shops and places to eat around the area. Would definitely go back!
