Im really happy I've stayed at Hanoi Hostel. Friedly and helpful staff, very well localted. the facilities were nice. Rooms with air con altho only at certain time of the day. The roof top is nice too but there was a huge rat walking all over the place. Also I'd recommend to book your trip to Halong Bay from the hostel. very good value

Hanoi Hostel is located in the central area. Staff were really friendly and really helpful. We were really happy of our stay in this hostel. Room was good for the cheap price, and we could leave our bag and take a shower after our check in. Staff helped us to book our cruise in Halong Bay and were really honest with us. I have got nothing negative to say about Hanoi Hostel, I will recommend this hostel to anyone.

Included breakfast and hour of beer every day was sweet! Staff well behaved, phoebe's a cutie. Got lost often but this is just what Hanoi is.

Initially the staff were very friendly and accommodating, until we tried to organize a trip to Cat Ba on our own. The lady at the front desk was visibly irritated that we did not opt to go on the hostel's one-day organized tour to Ha Long Bay and grumpily organized transportation to Cat Ba for us (which ended up being a rather unsafe wild goose chase!) The facilities were semi clean...the breakfast was certainly nothing to write home about. I stayed at Hanoi Backpackers later on- MUCH nicer...

The hostel was perfect for what I needed for my first 8 days in HaNoi. The staff i met were very helpful and had really good English. I want to especially thank Ngan, Long, Uyen and Binh for helping me to organise a sim card and taking me out for a special Vietnamese drink. They are the best hostel staff in HaNoi!!!! If you are after a party at your hostel then this isnt the place for you but had a good quiet vibe away from the crazy part of the old quarter which was perfect for me. thankyou!

Nice hostel, safe lockers to put your bag under the beds. Bit loud in a morning, but don't think you would find anywhere quiet in Hanoi, it's a very loud and busy place! The hostel is slightly on the outskirts of the old town, but not a bad place to be, everything is in walking distance.

This is nice hostel in a good location with friendly and helpful staff. It's not the cleanest I've stayed in, but it's adequate. The rooms are fairly small, but there's under bed lockers to save room. The beds were quite narrow and hard for my liking, but that's pretty typical of Asia! You do have your own reading lamp and plug socket next to your bed, which is always a welcome feature :)

This is an excellent hostel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We booked the Ha Long Bay tour through them and we got it a little cheaper than some of our companions who we travelled with. Only one small problem - the door to the shower/bathroom didn't lock, so you didn't have much privacy. Otherwise, this is a great hostel in an excellent location in Hanoi.

It is very near Hoan Kiem Lake or Water Puppet Theatre, about 15 minutes on foot. The hostel arranged for our airport pick up and also airport transfer on the way back . Very friendly hostel.

Great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Arranged great trips to Halong Bay and Sapa. Good location in old quarter. Would definitely return. Stayed at the Hang Vai property.

You really can't complain for the price. Comfortable beds, big thick quilts and large lockers under the bed. (Wouldn't take much to open them actually but I wasn't too worried). Each floor is one dorm with a bathroom, it's well laid out with a nice rooftop cafe. Breakfast was great, fruit, toast and omelettes. Good location on a quieter street than right in the middle of the old quarter. The staff were really great and very helpful with organising tours and transfers.

The staff of the hostel, especially the owner, is really great. They are eager to help, explain what kind of tours you can do, give you a map with sights on etc. The room had A/C and fan. Shower had pressure, so no problem with showers. As for the cleanliness: they cleaned the dorm room during the 4 days I stayed there but I had the feeling they did not clean the bathroom. As for the breakfast lady: I always had the feeling she was pissed when someone came to get breakfast.

It's a nice comfortable hostel, with a cheap price. Dorms are comfortable and secure. Good beds, lockers, helpful staff, location is somehow okay but it's not really convenience. Only problem was the bathrooms were not always in the best state (door can't be locked), and there are one or two rats run on the stairs which made me scare.

Location: Hang Vai. Pros: rooms are fairly clean, free towel, free breakfast, helpful and friendly staff members available 24/7! Cons: common areas could be better in terms of cleanliness.
