The location is perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful especially the receptionist who's name is Mr.Ben . He amazed me as he remembers every guest's name and tries to ensure your stay is as perfect as possible. He can also organise trips to Halong Bay and Sapa as well as train/bus tickets. Breakfast is good. They seved Vietnamese and Western food. Luggage storage is not an issue if you are like me and go to Halong Bay and leave your bag(s) with the hotel until you return. I recommend

We didn't pay much to stay here so weren't expecting too much. Bed comfortable and nice TV and air conditioning. Bit noisy from street at night but is in centre of Old Quarter. Room shabby but pleasant staff made up for it.

Good location; clean room w/hot shower. Room (think 206) was great - was told i got free upgrade since it's just for a night (perhaps they were overbooked for single ensuite?). Overall, staff was great – male concierge spoke English; 2 café ladies were friendly; elder male caretaker was the best! This senior gentleman was genuinely friendly & caring, amazingly hospitable & kind – he is extraordinary, a true asset to the establishment. The only unpleasant staff was the young female concierge.

Cheap hotel (< $10 night), but my room was dirty, smelly, and the toilet not in good hygienic conditions. One night coming out of the lift I saw a rat going upstairs (kitchen). Location is very good/central, but noisy and overcrowded (better the west area of the lake). Staff could not speak English (just the necessary to check in / out), so could not arrange any tour with them. No separate shower plate. Cheap place, but it’s worth paying a bit more for better hygienic conditions and facilities.
