Good location, comfy beds, locker and key cards for rooms make it secure. Most of the staff are really helpful. Kitchen doesn't have much in the way of utensils. There's a bar, but it feels more aimed at outsiders than at building a fun atmosphere for people staying there. Pool table is nice touch.

This is a really great hostel but don't expect to party hard here. Sparkling clean and great facilities. Down the road from Casa kiwi so if you want a good night sleep stay here and goto party there! If you manage to get some of the female staff away from checking their Facebook accounts and get their attention let me know the trick. The res of the staff was good and friendly

I loved the hostel! The publicity and infos at website are the same on reality. The staff are very kindly and experts about city informations. The location is great. Dorms comfortables. The bathroom could be clean more times.

1) The recepcionist presented the list of rules, but keep it with him, after the check-in. 2) Near the kitchen, there wasn't any information about the breakfast. I needed to ask to the receptionist, but when i returned to the kitchen, there was no ingredient to prepare it, said the person in charge, neither even milk to the cereals... 3) The pool table wasn't well illuminated and there was a big rip on it.

Rooms were very nice, the private room was like staying in a nice hotel. Had a bit of an issue with the staff booking a Pablo Escobar tour for me. They never made the reservation, then when they ended up getting me a tour it was US$50 for a taxi driver who spoke broken english to drive me around for two hours. Not the best experience.

Excellent: more of a hotel than a hostel. Good location, right round the corner from Casa Kiwi.

Great hostel. There were some logistical issues - toilet paper running out in some bathrooms, low lighting in most areas (around pool table), but overall a great experience. Staff is terrific, location is terrific as well. Facilities are new etc etc.

Nice and clean space, but mayorly for Partypeople. No breakfast included, and the kitchen is very small and closed overnight. But in general very nice and clean.

Feels more like a hotel than a hostel: Positives: it was the cleanest hostel I'd been in location is El Poblado (very close to the bars) being brand new the beds are very comfortable. Negatives: had to pay for all the nights I had reserved in advance. There was very little atmosphere at the time I stayed in the hostel, which meant even though I had paid for my nights in advance I ended up staying at Casa Kiwi (which is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in) no computers/only wifi

There are good hostels that I have stayed at while travelling around. The fact that I am actually writing a review (I'm lazy) speaks volumes to my experience at the Happy Buddha. The facilities are extremely well kept (change of sheets every day and what seems like constant cleaning), extremely friendly staff, and one of the coolest owners (John) who will gladly sit down with you to have a glass of beer. Recommended to everyone!

Last time I was in Medellin, I saw this place being built and it looked really cool. So, on this quick stop over in the City of Eternal Spring, I decided to stay at the Happy Buddha and I am so happy that I did. The place is great! It's like nothing else in town! The amenities were top notch, especially for the price. The people were friendly, the bar is cool and served great drinks... the atmosphere was great! I highly recommend this joint. It's unlike any "Hostel" you have ever experienced.

Beautiful new hostel, great location, owner is from Miami so he speaks english, good location, next streets are ful of great bars anfd restaurnts, which are a bit expensive but biggg portions....great lace to explore Medellin. Go to gondola ride on the top of the hill, there is nice park, rent a bike and explore it ...

HB was probably the best hostel I stayed at in Colombia. Verrrry clean and perfect location! The owner and staff were very helpful and attentive. All in all Id say this place is the perfect balance between a hotel and a hostel.

Good modern hostel. Secure and decent location. The Internet was a real let down. It didn't work in the room and wasn't good enough for Skype calls.

Coming from New York I didn't know what i was getting into by blindly booking at Happy Buddha. I was pleasantly surprised when we go there. The staff was really cool, they helped us out, and introduced us to a few groups of people that were also staying at the hostel. Even the bar had a great scene. A LOT of talent. I stoked i chose this one. I highly recommend staying here.
