In quite good location (10 minutes to the city centre by metro) it gives good vaůue. There are excellent restaurants nearby (even the hostel nar has good cuisine), and morning market every day just few steps from the hostel. Thumbs up!

Really enjoyed our stay here, the Hostel was in a great location and the staff were incredibly helpful! As soon as we got there we were given a map and that of the subway and shown all the best places to go and how to get to them on the subway. Friendly vibe in the hostel, would definitely go there again! :)

Happy Dragon Hostel is a very nice hostel, great located and a bit hidden from the main roads (which gives some rest at night) with very helpful staff. The bar is way to expensive for China, thought, and they don't have a big common area, but a part from that, I would definitely recomend it!

Fantastic - I stayed for one night while transiting through Beijing. A little difficult to find the first time coming from the subway, but easy to get to major tourist sites in Beijing. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The overall feel was a little quieter than other Beijing hostels - great for me, but if you're looking for a party hostel, this might not be it. I found earplugs helpful to block minor street and hallway noise. Overall great!

Great hostel close to the city centre. Really helpful and friendly staff and nice (free!) BBQ friday nights. Rooms were pretty small but clean and with a seperate bathroom. I'd recommend it to everyone who wants to stay close to the city and who doesnt mind paying 2¥ to get to the city centre by subway

AMAZING hostel! Fantastic atmosphere, great and friendly staff, rooms are clean and very comfortable. 5/5 stars -thank you for a great stay, we'll definately stay at Happy Dragon next time we visit Beijing, and recommend it to all of our friends! Ps. Great outside sitting-area, with beers for 4 yuan!

My arrival in Beijing was rought, but when I arrived at Happy Dragon everything changed, I was quickly met by the nicest staff I have ever dealt with, and treated like gold. They carried my suitcase, and offered me water. People like Simon and Candice are the reason I had so much fun. The rooms were beautiful, and the atmosphere was so much fun. I am definitely coming back, I mean I want to work there now!! The location was great, with great restaurants all around, and cheap places to drink.

Hostel very cramped with few places to just sit around & chill-out. Outside tables are claustrophic because cars are allowed to park so close that you must squeeze awkwardly into seats. Bar staff brought ice-cream desert with the main dish and looked annoyed when asked if they could put it in the freezer and bring it back after the main meal was eaten. Staff should know foreigners usually eat desert after dinner. Should play English music, not Elevator music or Chinese pop music.

It can be very noisy in the rooms next to the reception area even past the 11:30 curfew, other than that it's a fairly nice hostel to stay at.

Having hostel-hopped in Beijing for more than a week, the Happy Dragon was my favourite! Decent location and for some reason it manages to attract just the right crowd. My recommendation to anyone traveling to Beijing.

They really help and can speak English fluent. The only place where you can find nice people around Beijing. Especially Candice. We'll stay there again if we back to Beijing

Everything that a modern hostel should have these days. Good wifi connection, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is not included. Might be nice to have that included since there are not that many places around. Restaurant is overpriced.

the hostel is 10 minutes form the subway station and as a girl, I would not have felt comfortable walking alone at night. the staff was great. However there are better located hostels for cheaper. the room was quite small, bathroom was toilet shower.

Although this hostel claims to be a 'party hostel' it really isn't as wild as that. By all means do not let this deter you from staying at Happy Dragon because my seven nights there were comfortable, secure and highly enjoyable. The staff were friendly, and very willing to help with any query or problem. I met many like-minded travellers and ultimately they have become friends I will stay in touch with for a long time. As a Belgian hostel-mate said to me: "You make your own party"! May 2013 x

Had a great time at Happy Dragon Hostel. Staff were very helpful and had a very good understanding of English. The bar had a really good range of food for reasonable prices. I made some great friends at this hostel and we were able to stay up until early of the morning drinking and having fun. Was in a good location within walking distance to forbidden city and tianamen square etc and with the metro close by. I did the tour of the Great Wall with the hostel and was really happy with it.
