The staff was very friendly and was very willing to help us or even just chat. We had to stay an extra night in Beijing unexpectedly and they let us stay in two rooms in their other location for the same price we paid for one room in this location. They even drove us there for free! (They wouldn't even accept a tip). Overall, the staff made us feel very at home in Beijing.

Happy Dragon is greatly located, walkin distance to city centre and forbidden city, has fabulouse staff, a nice and cosy bar and organizes many trips and fun nights. All that for great prices.

Good hostel with really happy and friendly staff. Lots of information available about the local area and what to do in Beijing. Will definately recommend to my friends.

Everything was great! Stayed in a private room as this was my first hostel experience in China, and I was nervous about what to expect... However there was no need to worry. The staff (seemingly all young ladies who spoke English well) was more than helpful, and was able to hail a taxi for me at 5am even though I hadn't requested one the night before. The hostel is a bit hard to find if you don't have it marked on a map, but I highly recommend others to find it because it is a great place.

the premises were really nice and also the bar in the middle of the garden! The only thing that I would criticize are that there were other really annoying guests, which were partying often until late... I´m speaking about 5-6 am.

The staff is what makes this place run, if it wasn't for them we probably would have left after the first day. They are all very helpful and speak good English.

This is a wonderful place to stay - the staff cannot do enough for you - they are friendly, polite, helpful and so cheerful. Good food - great athmosphere - would definitely go back there when in Beijing. Very good location for metro and getting to places of interest.

The only problem was the shower, because the temperature of the water was not uniform and the water was a little weak. But that is all. From 1 to 10, the staff is 100. The owner even borrowed me money! What else can I say? The staff is absolutely superb. The room is clean and cheap, location is great. Just book your room and go.

When we arrived, we were moved to a shabby hotel in the neighbourhood - officially because of a blocked sewer, inofficially because the place was apparently overbooked.

Very friendly staff, they speak english very well, great location 5 minutes walk from subway and in walking distance from the Forbidden city. The bathroom facilities are poor, although they clean every day, the bad smell doesn\'t go away and it\'s very small. The beds are hard, but most of the beds in China are...

I can thoroughly recommend Happy Dragon for your stay in Beijing! I tried both Happy Dragon hostels in Beijing and both are very friendly and nice places to stay at! The service is great and staff are genuinely friendly. The only thing I would suggest is to double-check your bookings as the booking system sometimes get things wrong as in our case. Otherwise I have only good things to say about this hostel! Happy travels, anna, sweden.

The twin rooms are tiny. There is not enough space to open your suitcase and unpack. The bathrooms is also extremely small - no separate shower tube which results in a constant dampness. There was some mould in the corner . Breakfast & beer prices - rather for a hotel, not a hostel - 20 yuan for a beer, while 10 meters away you could buy a beer for 5 yuan. However, a very good location (5-minute walk from Dongsi subway station)and very helpful English-speaking staff.

I can't complain about anything really when I was only paying 30 Yuan (£3.00) a night.Hostel has VPN on its 3 PC'S to allow you to use Facebook & youtube.Hot Showers, great location, 10 mins walk from subway.Free BBQ night & dumplings night are awesome, however that doesn't really make up for the discusting overpriced bar (5* hotel food & drink prices) which gives the hostel a negative atmosphere which is why I didn't rate it 100%.Its very money oriented which is why I wouldn't book again.

I thought the staff was friendly. and usually helpful. Some of them didn't speak great English, which left us with a bit of confusion sometimes, but all in all pretty good. The tours they had were nice as well, and it was easy to book though their office. The rooms were cleaned everyday, and I loved that! I wish though that there had been a place for Hostel guests to hang out and meet each other without having to buy something or end up smelling like smoke from bar.

Hello Happy Dragon It was our first time to experience an overseas holiday, and Summer made our stay fantastic. It was sad to say good bye. The girls do a wonderful job in looking after you. We loved the fruit salad, and we were lucky enough to meet up with some lovely people from South Africa and New Zealand. The security was particularly important to us and cleanliness. Keep up the great work... Don't say no to the Panda - thank you Summer... Colin and Cindy from the land down under...
