the only good thing about this hostel was its location.. 10 minutes walking distance to the main shopping area in Beijing.. that and the friendly staff.. other than that though.. it was extremely overpriced for what you got.. and the rooms were extremely small with no room at all in them... as for the shower facility.. it was pot luck. it ran from freezing to scalding.. high pressure to no pressure.. terrible.. stay somewhere else if you can..

This hostel was just perfect. all of the staff were very friendly and helped us with everything. they cleaned every day our room and we had a free christmas dinner. besides the dinner we had a free dumpling party. and the prices of the bar are really cheap. we really enjoyed our stay there! for now, it was the best hostel i've ever been in china!!!

Place was great. Staff are great, dumpling party was great. Management is great. The only two comments I have, and they are not complaints, are these: First, the hostel says it is in a hutong area, but it's not the kind of hutong that most travelers are looking for. It's not an old hutong area, rather just a typical back alley. Location is safe, and close to the subway, and not a long walk to the major sites. Second, for security, they could put lockers in the rooms. A+++ place!!!

1- It is easy to reach metro station, but need to walk apprx. 10 minutes. If you reach metro station, you can reach anywhere. 2- It is secured, helpful stuff, enough ehgnlish to communicate, it would be enjoyable during your stay, means not only bad to sleep. 3- There are some computers to connect internet, but connection speed is not good. 4- Private room: shower is inside the toilet in the room, not comfortable, but okay if you dont like shared bathroom.

The staff was incredibly helpful. Most if not all spoke fluent English and were able to help us with all of our questions. They also had several tours you could sign up for at any time. We opted to partake in The Great Wall Tour. For $260 RMB we got a ride to and the wall, breakfast at our hotel and lunch after the wall. A great deal. This hostel has wifi that works great in the hostel and a nice little bar/restaurant that has good food and drinks.

I hated that smoking was allowed in the bar: The only common area in the hostel. It made it a thoroughly unpleasant atmosphere for any non-smokers. And I would have spent a lot more time (and money) in there if it was smoke-free. Other than that I loved this hostel. The staff were all excellent and the food was very good. I highly recommend the Mexican baked rice.

The staff was very courteous. They helped me in many ways. Such responsiveness I've never met. Nice bar, nice rooms, clean restrooms. Not far from the subway in the city center.

I found the staff to be extremely helpful in every way possible. From getting me to the Hostel to calling a cab to take me to the airport. When in a new country, having someone go out of their way to help you really counts.

Had a brilliant stay with a cosey and clean room. The girls running the place are really friendly and helped us find our way around and book trips on many occasions. There is also a great little bar serving food and drinks. I would highly recommend Happy Dragon to anyone visiting Beijing!

Happy with my stay at the Happy Dragon. Rooms were fine. Beds were a little hard, but that is expected in China. Showering over the toilet took a bit of manoeuvring afterwards when everything was wet, but nothing too drastic. Nothing was stolen, which is a bonus, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Betty. Overall, a good stay.

Overall great place to stay. Fantastic location and wonderful staff. They were the most helpful staff I have ever encountered in a hostel. It was a bit quiet when we went, but otherwise we had a great time!
