The hostel and it's staff are great! Very helpfull girls at reception and in the bar. Actually the bar was the place were we spent a lot of time - great atmosphere, drinks....and very WARM. We stayed in January and it was really cold in the rooms (air conditioning is very poor). So I wouldn't recommend to stay in Happy Dragon Hostel in the winter - you can even see your breath - so cold it is.

Food is a little slow and there were some problems when I was there, but overall this place is awesome. Bar is small, but its a good atmosphere and an awesome place to meet new people. The highlight is the staff though - they speak excellent English, and are extremely helpful and cheerful. Many thanks to Apple, Peach, Winona, Sarah and Mary!

The hostel was conveniently located near Wangfujin road and the Beijing subway system. Beijing was a bit frigid during December (and parts of the hostel were too), but the bar was a great place to meet people and the staff were excellent -- especially Sara, who was great to talk to and super helpful as a host. The desk staff and Strawberry were very friendly and helpful too.

Had a good stay at happy dragon hostel. Heater in room didn't work so they changed our room for us straight away! The food in the restaurant is just ok but good for the convenience. Staff are friendly, especially Sara who was very helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at Happy Dragon! it was very clean compared to most hostels ive stayed at and the staff were very friendly, especially Sara and Apple who helped us a lot during our stay with finding places to visit around Beijing and with practising our Mandarin in the bar! The bar was also a really cool place to hang out and well heated mostly considering the minus 15 temperatures outside! Definitely will recommend this to my friends, thanks!

after 3 years, it was at end of my travling, I was in Happy Dragon Hostel, it was one of the greatest experinence ever, this hostel is only 5 minuts by foot from subway station, it is clean, stuffs are extremely hepful and friendly, they helped me book ticket to go home, tought me some basic Chinese words, what's more special feeling this hostel gives me is the bar, it is not big but delicate, comfortable, they have good food and the bartender girls are nice. I miss them! I will come back!

This was our first stay at a hostel, we loved it. The staff were fantastic, location is very close to a subway stationand it's nice and quiet at night for sleeping. If you're going to visit the Great Wall and aren't taking a tour, make sure you check that it's open if you're visiting in the winter. We travelled all the way out there to then find out it was closed!!

The hostel staff is excellent very helpful to clients whenever they have a question. Anna (Wang Meng Wei), Marry (Li May) and all the other staff that i don't remember their names they were all very nice. The location is very convenient as it is close to the Dongsi Metro station. Definetely worth the money.

I absolutely loved staying here. The staff were great, very helpful in planning things to do and how to get around and spoke very good English. My room was comfortable and was cleaned daily. The atmosphere was great and the bar was a great place to meet others and have some drinks. The hostel is within walking distance to the subway, supermarkets, shopping street and the night market. Travelling by myself, I felt very safe and would recommend this hostel to anyone. I would defiantly return!

Nice hostel and nice staff - good location if you consider Beijing as a whole, although the neighborhood is not, let say, charming. Rooms are relatively cheap but food and drinks aren't that much. Generaly speaking, good hostel though.

On arrival and Peach & Marina greeted at reception, really friendly and helpful to us. No probably answer a question or sorting train tickets, tours etc for us. The highlight had to be the nights in the bar with Mayani who was good for the banter and stayed up late with us.She to was helpful for sorting out accommodation etc the mornings after the night before. Mayani is lovely and loves a good ole chat, her English is great which makes a change from the rest of China.Recommended by Andrea&Sarah
