The hostel doesn't have any place where you can just seat, relax and meet other travellers but for the bar, where you are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks, so you can only stay in your bed or pay for something in the bar. Also no fridge, microwave or anything to keep your staff or have a tea. Definitely not recommended.

I was put in a three bed dorm instead of the quad dorm with my friends and told to move next day. Ok, that happens. I didn't unpack but next day I could not move anyway. Before the last night I was then told to move my stuff to the quaddorm. At a time with my stuff unpacked - not the best start of a morning when you are heading out. There was no locker in the triple dorm so I could only leave my valuables in the reception - not desirable! Nice food and prices in the cafe. More info on tours pls

I am a 33 year old English female and was travelling with a 23 year old male. We both thought the staff were fantastic; they couldn't have been more helpful and acommodating. We stayed in a twin room which was comfortable and clean, We would definitely stay there again if we return to Beijing.

Great location for seeing Beijing. Close to subway station too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar & cafe area served good food and drinks. An excellent place to stay if visiting Beijing for the first time.

Happy Dragon location is ok, the surrounding is not very nice, but only about 10 minutes walk from the subway station. Our Room was quite noisy and there was no real shower in the bathroom, we had to shower between the toilet and the washbasin, so everything in the bathroom was wet all day.

I loved this hostel. The bar area is nice and cozy and the outside terrace is really nice. The rooms are small but not bothered by that as I only sleep there and its spacy enough to store my stuff and sleep. The bathrooms are clean and very bid and towels are included. On top of that there was WiFi in my room which I did not get in many places in China. The restaurant has a good menu and the manager Betty speaks excellent english and is very helpfull. Een aanrader from a traveller from Holland!

Nice, english-speaking staff. Very helpful! The bar has a nice atmosphere. The subway station is in 5 min. walking distance. Our 4-bed room was clean. The matresses were a bit hard though, but that's acceptable. The value for money is definitely great! We recommend this cool hostel!!!

honestly, i only have one thing to say. this hostel is the sh*t!!!! i traveled alone and not once did i feel alone, the bar really does attract all the tenants, though it is small, but i felt like everyone eventually meshed together and became one big group, the food is also super cheap and tastes excelent,(i do not speak a single word of chinese so that could give you an idea. what makes this hostel the best is the staff. they are amazing and always willing to help. just stay here :)

Some may find that the hostel is in an untidy area, but the rooms are clean. Moreover, it is close to subway station, supermarket and morning market where you can fresh fruit and local restuarants for your breakfast in a good price. Most of all, the staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful.

The room was great, but the bathroom was very small. The toilet had a wall straight in front of it, making it impossible for either of us to sit on it properly (we had to sit sideways!) The food was good and reasonably priced, but service was very slow. We found the drinks to be very expensive compared to other bars and restaurants in Beijing, and this was a great disappointment to us, as we had hoped to spend many nights in the bar talking to other travellers.

The hostel was a nice happy place, and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. As an older traveller, I found the loud music in the bar a bit too much at nights as my room was just along the hall. I could of done with a quieter place.

First hostel on our first stop around the world. Couldn't have been better. Nice bar, decent grub, cheap beer, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Well done happy dragon!
