Kadalikad Post, Cochin
DIRECTIONS
Muvattupuzha is the closest town if you are coming from Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alleppey, Trichur and Calicut. If you are coming from Periyar the closest town is Thodupuzha. Frequent private buses that pass through Kadalikad link these two towns.
Ernakulam: By KSRTC bus from Central bus stand to Thodupuzha and get off at Kadalikad or bus to Muvattupuzha and change bus to Thodupuzha and get off at Kadalikad. (55 Kms 1½-2 hrs) Taxi costs you around Rs.800 . From Fort Cochin it is 65kms and Rs.900.Public transport is reasonably good and cheap
Airport: Cochin International / Domestic Airport — Kalady – Perumbavoor – Muvattupuzha – Kadalikad by taxi or bus. (50 Kms 1-1½ hrs) Taxi costs around Rs.750.Prepaid Taxis available at the Airport.
Trivandrum: By train to Kottayam and then by bus to Muvattupuzha (KSRTC bus) or by bus direct to Muvattupuzha. From Muvattupuzha take the bus to Thodupuzha and get off at Kadalikad (220 Kms 5 hrs)
Kottayam: Buses going to North Kerala such as Trichur, Calicut, Palghat, Coimbatore pass through Muvattupuzha. From there change bus to Thodupuzha and get off at Kadalikad. (65 Kms 2 hrs) Alternatively Bus to Thodupuzha and change bus to Muvattupuzha and get off at Kadalikad.Taxi cost you around Rs.650 and the route is Kottayam-Palai-Thodupuzha -Kadalikad on the way to Muvattupuzha.
Alleppey: Bus or Boat to Kottayam and from there as above OR bus to Muhamma then boat to Kumarakom and from there bus to Kottayam - Muvattupuzha.
Calicut: Bus to Muvattupuzha and private bus to Thodupuzha and get off at Kadalikad. (220 Kms 5 hrs)
Mysore: Bus to Calicut and as above
Coimbatore: Go by train to Trichur, take bus to Muvattupuzha - and as above OR bus to Palakad change to buses going to south via Muvattupuzha and as above. (220 Kms 5½ hrs)
Munnar: Buses to Thodupuzha going via Muvattupuzha will pass through Kadalikad. OR bus to Kothamangalam and frequent onward buses from there to Thodupuzha or Muvattupuzha. (105 Kms 3½ hrs)
Periyar: Some direct buses are available to Thodupuzha from where there are frequent buses to Muvattupuzha pass through Kadalikad. Alternatively frequent buses are available via three routes: (4-5 hrs)
1. Kumali-Kattapana-Thodupuzha (139 Kms)
2. Kumali-Ponkunnam-Pala Thodupuzha (135 Kms)
3. Kumali-Kanjirappally-Erattupetta-Thodupuzha (128KM)
