This tyoe of hostel just fits on Ilha Grande by my opinion. Simple, but great staff.

The staff is increadible! The owner is always there to chat, help and do whatever you need to feel confortable there. I've never been so well-treated by the staff in any other hotel/hostel I've ever been. He speaks French, English and Portuguese. The rooms are cleaned all the time. The enviroment is very simple but cozy. The only things I didn't like were the small locker and the smell of mold (because the rooms were closed for a few days before).

Although the hostel is new And modern compared to others it lacked character in respect of decor. however Jose who runs the place more than makes up for this. he is ridiculously friendly, genuine and helpful. he speaks a number of languages and is always trying to improve. he is always around the place to answer any questions or just to offer you some of his ham and cheese rolls

Arriving at the hostel our expectations weren't too high. The rooms were standard but clean, and the common area was small yet cosy, then we met the owner Jose. This ball of fun is what makes this hostel a hidden gem. He is always in the mood for instigating a few beers, enjoyable music and barbecue cook ups. This injection of fun helps pull people out of their shell, and brings all the guests together for an unexpectedly amazing experience. Harmoni Hostel, a soon to be famous little hot spot.

First of all, the owner of the hostel is an amazing guy! Always very friendly and up for a chat or a joke whenever you're around and able to give great information and inside tips. The hostel is well located, in a side street away from the noise but still close to the shops, restaurants and beach. It is a very clean place with spacious rooms. The only downside was that there was no breakfast. This hostel is excellent value for your money!

The hostel rooms are new and so clean, but the kitchen is so small and it was so rainy. And their is no enough place to sit without rain.
