one of the best hostels ever. its modern and clean, even the beds are comfi. the location is good. about 15 min from the main station but located in a trendy area. lots of nice bars and pubs around. birmingham itself is an amazing city. the best things though is the staff. awesome people - always nice and helpful. they offer pub crawls and various other events. they made me feel really welcome. i will definetly go back.

Stayed in a 4-bed compartment ("4-bed mixed dorm ensuite") and I must say I was not impressed. There six such compartment as part of a 24-bed dorm. The ensuite means that there is a toilet shared with up to 23 people rather than (as you would expect) 3 others. This led to it being not very clean. Furthermore, the heating was not working and the temperature sank down to about 15C at night. Wifi is available but neither very fast nor available in the rooms (but in the common room in the basement).

The room I was in was musty. There was little to no airflow and therefore mold. Other than that, the games room, computer room, the breakfast, they were wonderful. The staff was fantastic, very helpful and ever smiling.

We had a twin private room which was so large and comfortable as to make us forget that we were in a hostel! Everything was very clean, staff was super nice and helpful, they had 24h coffee, tea and toasts, breakfast was good... long story short, an excellent stay! The only thing I'd improve is the wifi which didn't work in the rooms.

Very handily situated for local train station at Snow Hill. Very friendly and professional staff and excellent system of night warden to ensure that there is no noise after 11.00pm. All in all, great value for money with a good buzz about the place.

Not soundproof at all, We had the room right by the reception and heard everything that was going on there. Breakfast was not the best, but not terrible either. Staff was great, very serviceminded and helpful.

Good to have 24-hr free toast and coffee. The free breakfast is nice. 15 minutes to main train station and shopping centre. Quite convenient. But only one washroom for 12-people dorm.

I enjoyed my stay except for the noise that came from the first floor. Despite there being a 11pm -7am quiet time, people were allowed to stream music without headphones throughout the night. That said, the staff were effective in getting them to quiet down once I alerted them.

The manager is a great guy, couldn't have had more time for the customers the rooms were very clean and tidy and the common rooms and food available were great. Only thing that let the hostel down is no secure storage for luggage. I will definitely be back at this hostel though. By far the nicest I have stayed in anywhere in the world

A decent hostel. Had a really nice atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. A few small things like cleaner bathrooms and such could really improve things.

The hostel itself was fine, the only problem was the noise from the other visitors. We understand that you can't control people from staying up late and people will socialise etc but we were kept awake until 6am by ridiculously loud shouting and guitar playing.

I was excited to give a ravin review until I had a shower. I don't honk it was cleaned in a while and hair clogged the drain so that I was standing in an inch and a half of water within a minute. That was the only downside. The staff was excellent and helpful, I don't know his name but one told me about Stratford-upon-Avon since he'd grown up there. It was very cool. The staff was some of the best in all my hosteling experience. Keep it up guys! :D
