I've been in a lot of hostels and this was certainly one of the better ones. They gave us a great deal on a private room when we originally booked a shared dorm room - only a couple pounds more for an upgrade since they weren't too busy. Good location - could walk to everything in the city centre. Very clean, free towels, and a tv in room. No wi-fi in rooms but free wi-fi in the basement. They organized a great pub crawl for only a couple pounds which was incredibly fun. I'd stay there again!

Mold. Lots of it in the bathrooms and on the curtains. Free wifi on lower level. Free breakfast. Was put in a "mixed" room of only guys that were being really inappropriate. Staff nice enough to switch me for a fee of .50 p more per night.

The Wifi is not a big deal in this hostel. They must improve this facility. Generally, the hostel is pretty good and I feel comfortable to indicate it.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hatters, the only complaint - it was too warm ! otherwise, good facilities, friendly helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable beds..and just a little bit scruffy so I felt at home. Excellent muesli too. Would certainly recommend it.

Very nice place, very good location. Excelent breakfast. I was here for 7 days and it was very good experience. The staff helped me when i needed. There are lockers in the rooms, you only have to bring your padlock. There was free wifi in the basement, but if you want to connect in other place you have to pay to get access to aonther network. In the kitchen ther are 3 stoves and a lot of pots and pans. If they had an oven, it had been perfect. Actually, is a very good hostel.

The rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast included a good assortment, and brown bread! Internet wasnt working during my stay...

Nice hostel in Liverpool, nothing much organised to do in terms of meeting people as I was travelling by myself yet Pub crawl on friday night wasn't too bad though. I got a free room upgrade when the staff knew i was alone in a 14 bed room which was awesome.

Its normal for a big hostel... I find big hostels are a little bit anti social but some people like that so... its what you make of it I guess.

Doing what seemed like renovations in various parts of the building, which was cool to imagine how it would look when it was finished. Parts of the hostel like the "hang out" rooms seemed very isolated though. Didn't spend too much time in the hostel though, was always out exploring the city, which was easy to do because they provide you with maps and things to see and do on their bulletin boards.

Great location, good value for money, clean warm rooms, can't ask for much more than that, definitely recommend it to anyone going to stay in Liverpool.

The hostel was more or less good, it has everything one could need. One can see that it has already existed for a while and thus the facilities are often in a rather used condition. All in all a good hostel, location is great and staff are as friendly as earlier comments suggested.

Senior staff so tired and lazy. My friend had left an e-mail on friday afternoon, and went on a trip after that so I couldnt reach him. The lazy staff didnt bother to check. At 11am the day after they found it... Mould in the room, not good air, thats not healthy at all. Big plus to the young guy in the reception and the ones in the breakfast area. No wifi in the room and so expensive as well. 10£/weekend.. for christ sake its 2012/13!!! No lights at the bed.

Not my favourite hostel - location was very good but atmosphere was lacking, and there were no safes in the room or the common areas. Staff offered to look after bags overnight which was a help, but I'd prefer even a small locker for valuables and passport...
