A clean and well-run place, though perhaps a but more like a hotel than hostel. Not sure why, but I think I'd have enjoyed it more if I were traveling as part of a group. I lucked out in having a six-bed room and ensuite bathroom all to myself for two nights. Bring earplugs. Hilton street is crowded with pubs and restaurants and otherwise you might find it hard to sleep. The only heating for my room was a space heater, provided. Great location. Would stay again.

Remember that many visitors who come to Manchester come to party too, so don't be surprised if you end up with some very drunk roommates who can't even find their own bed when they come back at 4. am. Even after turning on the lights and slamming the door!

First time in a hostel. I stayed for five nights. Not a bad experience, except for a hardcore snorer one night. Overall, the building was clean, the staff was friendly, and the beds were comfortable.

Comfy beds in a good location, couldn't ask for much more. The hostel wasn't anything fancy, but for the price you got a decent room in a safe and clean hostel.

One of the best hostels I stayed in. Good kitchen, good staff, comfy beds. I had an ensuite in my room which was super clean, hot showers. Defiantly recommend.

noise from outside was horrendous so perhaps some inner windows to reduce the noise for a better nights sleep

Sólo tiene un problema, dormir un viernes o sábado es difícil. El hostel está en el meollo de la zona de macha y hay mucho ruido por la noche. Por lo demás, está muy céntrico y se llega muy bien a la estación de Picadilly.

free wi-fi was out while we were there which was quite annoying as we'd booked because of it , however we were able to use the other hatters wifi

We left a jacket in our room, which was subsequently stolen by either a member of staff, or whoever occupied our room after. But, we concede that the fault was our own and we don't hold the hostel responsible in an form. All facilities were excellent, my only opinion would be that if it were ever an option, to make sports available to watch in the TV room.

The staff at the hostel was very helpful. They were very friendly and had lots of useful advice. The hostel's location was great located right near the bar area, within walking distance of a lot of restaurants. The common room had a lot of extras not available at other hostels and the kitchen was a good size and contained everything you need. The room was relatively comfortable and I would certainly recommend Hatter's to others.

Just love this hostel, staff is great and so is the location. I like the atmosphere in this hostel, there is always toast, tea, coffee and enough stuff for a relaxed moment. When staying in a hostel you can feel sometimes a bit 'homeless' because you do not have any place to just sit and relax for a bit. Not in this one, as you can always sit in the large kitchen, enough cooking facilities, or in the livingroom. It is a bit noisy, bad insulation. But I love the showers!

I would have liked to stay for another night at the next weekend, but as you have a minimum stay policy of 2-nights at weekends, I chose to stay at the YHA (which is slightly more expensive per single night).

Perfect location from the Shudehill bus interchange for the Megabus. Staff were really helpful and friendly! Everything was really clean and well laid out.

I chose this hostel based on its high rating and low price but I was disappointed. Overall, I would rate it as average. Good points: -Much cheaper than a hotel -Good location in an artistic neighbourhood near the train station Bad points: -Very dirty! They do lightly sweep and wash the floors but the place needs to be thoroughly scoured from top to bottom. -Cold! There are a couple of space heaters available if you're lucky. -You have to pay to use the computers -Free wi-fi only in common area

The only disappointment we had was no hot water in the morning. In a room of 8 girls after a hen party it wasn't ideal! However, I would definitely recommend your place, and think I will definitely stay again! Thanks for everything :)

Plus points - friendly helpful staff, comfy bed, towel provided, city centre location. Downside - very noisy in street on weekends until 4-5am from bars, and the street cleaners start up at 7-8am! Take earplugs and it is fine.

This is an amazing hostel! really nice stuff, thanks girls! Some rooms are really cold and have no heating. Amazing facilities.

A big thank you to the staff, they were really nice. I enjoyed my stay there very much, the people I met there were very nice as well and the whole place is really comfortable. The only "bad" thing thats noteworthy is the lack of free Wifi in the rooms, you have it in the common rooms though.
