Very accomodating and a bit less hectic than the other Hatters around the corner. Also that they had a 24hr reception to allow me to book in late. Bit pricey for a hostel but the premium was for xmas. Support other comments about the need for better heating in the rooms. Also the beds are flimsy with very thin pillows. Other than that would recommend it.

It is good value for money, the location is great and the free internet is great. Maybe to improve: the bathroom for the guys was quite dirty. I was staying in one 6-bed room and it was really smelly; no opportunity to open windows at least. In general, good review.

Hatters at Hilton had great facilities, which I only realised once I went to other hostels. The bathroom was clean and extremely well maintained with three or four shower cubicles and two bathrooms - almost an anomaly in UK hostels. There was free wifi, which although was not functioning on the first day, came good on our second day. It's a short walk from the shopping strip and nearby restaurants and staff were most friendly and accommodating. Overall, a really good hostel that I'd recommend.

Everything was good, especially the free showering cream in the showers and free toast all day long (and the pleasant cereal/milk breakfast). However, one drawback is that there is no free Wi-fi and one has to pay for Internet access. Wireless is also restricted to the common areas only. However, the location is convenient - very near to Shudehill Interchange for Megabus and not that far away (around 10-15 mins walk) from National Express Coach Station.

Overall, it was an excellent hostel, but the main reason we stayed there was to enjoy wifi on Christmas, and they just didn'y offer any wifi, free or paid. We ended up having to pay for expensive Manchester wifi outside of the hostel, and they didn't discount our stay either.

If you book a room with a credit card that is not yours, make you sure you bring any proof that relates you with the credit card holder :D

Lucked out in this hostel and had the room of four beds to myself which was great. Private bathroom was good but was past it's use by date and needed updating. Same with my bunk bed, which had a few broken slats but nothing major. Good location, room was plenty big enough.

Literally stayed here one night as a stop over. Was what we needed, nice bed, spacious and decent wifi. Would recommend to anyone staying. We only walked around a bit but it seemed like it was in a good location

They should warn guests that there is no heating the rooms. The small electric fan heater that was provided was broken. When I returned it to the reception desk the actual response was " Ok. What would you like me to do about it?". It wasn't said nastily or anything but it was a bit unnecessary. They did not replace the heater with a working one, the room was v cold. They had run out of towels the next morning, which was unfortunate. Need to warn guests there is no late check out on weekends.

I have never been as cold as I was trying to sleep in the 10 bed mixed room I stayed in. I don't think the heating was on. I could have said something to reception but I'm British an we don't do that ;0) plus I couldn't bring myself to exit whatever warmth I had under the duvet!! Other than that my stay was very pleasant!!! I would stay there again but in the summer.

The private room we stayed in actually looked like it was part of a hotel. A good one, actually.

I paid more than £35 for a single night for 1 bed. This is astronomically high but it was the only bed I could find in Manchester. I stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm but was the only girl. There were 9 males who created a threatening atmosphere after coming back to the room at 5 am and loudly sharing stories of the prostitutes they had slept with that night very.

Absolutely loved it!! We stayed here for 9 days and felt just like home. The staff is great and made us feel really comfortable. The hostel is beautiful and well kept, a lot of facilities- great kitchen! The location is perfect, in the heart of the Northern Quarter. Everything is close, and all the best bars are no more than 5 min walk! I will gladly recommend it to everyone. Cheers and keep on doing what you're doing!
