Being on the fifth floor with no lift would have been fine except the toilets on the 4th floor was closed so I had to go to the 2nd floor. Very annoying

I really liked the hostel. I liked the theme of decor etc but thought having to show slip of paper as proof of staying was a bit silly and a waste of paper.

A good friendly service. Showers could be improved, there was hardly any hot water. Showers not ideally placed, found on seperate floors from the rooms. Generally clean but could be improved. Overall an enjoyable stay. Many thanks.

It is very noisy in the evening. The room is clean and location is very good. The price is too high for the value. Too expensive to use the wifi.

I thought this Hostel had a great buzz about it. The staff were super and the location for Manchester city centre was pivotal. Everything about this Hatters was brilliant.

I had a really lovely time in Hatters. The whole hostel is very clean and the rooms are warm at night with decent beds and duvets.. Free toast and tea and the kitchen facilities are open 24 hours which is better than a lot of other places, plus the staff and super helpful and friendly 10/10. The only small negative was that the Kitchen/communal area are very cold during the day in winter and the internet isn't free. I would def recommend this a very sociable and comfortable hostel to stay in.

The hostel is freezing itself - do the radiators even work in most of the rooms? Only time it wasn't too cold was when sleeping. Showers were nice and warm for the girls, but too cold for the boys. Love the free toast and tea anytime and that you can borrow a real hairdryer - would be helpful if there was an electrical outlet in the wc or shower area.

This was the first time for me staying at a hostel and it was very pleasant. It has given me a confidence to stay at other hostels.

I stayed for 2 nights. The first night was fine. The second night, there was someone snoring really loudly from about midnight for a couple of hours or so, keeping half the dormitory awake. I asked to switch rooms but unfortunately nobody could help me. By 03:30 it was getting ridiculous so I had to wake him up and tell him to be quiet, because nobody else in the dormitory had the courage!

Second time here as it does everything you want from a hostel for a decent price. The only problems is no free wifi and to pay for it isn't that cheap. The free tea/coffee and toast any time is a nice touch.

The reception staff (Chrissy??? and another girl the Saturday and Sunday and a friendly night porter :) ) were all lovely and very helpful...and even though we were late checking out due to a very......VERY late night the night before they totally understood!! Anything we asked was answered and if they did not know they found out!! Will be recommending and maybe staying again if another visit is made!! :)

Great place with fantastic atmosphere. Free breakfast, helpful staff and the best thing ever- free coffee, tea and toast anytime you want!. no free internet but it only motivates you to go out and see the beautiful city. Hatters hostel has everything a real hostel should have for a reasonable price.

This hostel was very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they helped us to know the best things to do in Manchester and gave us good maps :) Moreover the atmosphere of this hostel is truly ''backpacker''. The kitchen was clean ! And the hostel is located on the city center so it's very easy to visit the city without walking too much ! So we had a really good time in Manchester, thanks to hatters on Newton Street hostel :)

sadly noise levels after 2am were quite bad and seemed to like the night porters really didn't care about any other guests in the hostel.
