A way of getting in touch with hostel staff from 4th floor would be nice (unless you want to walk down 4 flights of stairs in your pyjamas at 3 a.m. to complain about drunks banging and kicking at doors for 20mins); free tea+toast all day are nice, keep it up! tv room was cold (provide blankets?); good music in the kitchen/lounge area, I enjoyed that :)

I really like the location of the hostel which is in the middle of bus terminals and main station as well as next to main area. The hostel itself I would rate as average. Rooms are well over heated and water pressure pump makes a lot of noise if you stay next to the bathroom. The temperature of the showers can't be changed and water flows for 10sec for each button push! Beds are not most comfy once and there are no lockers in the room. You might get one at reception.

This was my second stay at this hostel and again it didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere and had an awesome time on the pub crawl. Was situated on the 4th floor so the stairs were a workout! Excellent location for everything. The only problem was that our room was extremely hot and stuffy- windows didn't open properly. Good value for money. I found that it was pretty male dominated but that was probably due to the Manchester game that was on while we were there. Overall good hostel!

This hostel is the best one i´ve been to... The staff is friendly and helpful /especially the slowakian guys/, everything was clean, breakfast and all-day-long toasts were great. If i should go to Manchester again, i would choose this hostel again.

Pretty much what you would expect from a hostel this big. Good for a place to sleep but if you just hanging out better to be out around the city.

We really enjoyed our stay, the hostel providing all we could think of - luggage storage, free breakfast, free toast & tea & coffee, excellent location. It was actually quite warm in the room (5th floor) but you could open the window so we didn't mind. Definitely would choose it again for next visit to Manchester, which, for us, was amazing as well.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. You get free toast, tea and coffee all day. We stayed in a 10 bed shared female dorm and there was enough space for all of us. We went for a night out with the hostel and it was great fun. There were many nice people and we enjoyed it a lot. I would definitely recommend this hostel, because you get great value for your money. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom.

I really enjoyed my stay there. I was there for about two weeks and really felt safe and never a stranger. The hostel had a great staff and they really did a good job about following the events schedule they had for guest. I would totally go back!

I am really upset with my reservation. I asked for 3 beds in a room of 4 and when we arrived we were separate in two different rooms... The man in the reseption wasn't very polite and he not even try to solved our problem. Apart from that, the breakfast was ok, also the location and the cleanliness. I stay in the same hostel in Liverpool and everything was ok. Anyway you must be more careful with the reservation, you can not give me something different of what I ask without tell me before

We booked the private twins room with sharing bathroom, we didn't expect too much from this really cheap hostel, but.. wahoo! Nice and clean bedroom, same for the bathroom. Only negative point: room located at the 5th floor with no lift! But really good hostel located 5minutes walk to Picadilly train station and 2 minutes walk to Picadilly garden! We went to Liverpool after 2 nights in Manchester and booked the same hostel. As good as it says! I will remember Hatters Hostel for my next trip!

The hostel is ok, the location is good, but manchester is not that big. 10 minutes walking from Manchester Picadilly train station. Not so good: they only turn the heating on during the night. Wifi free only in reception.
