freezing cold, dirty shower rooms, lukewarm shower unless someone was running sink taps at same time, no sleep as staff didn't enforce consideration to sleepers, music&chat 2am-4am in dining room by students high on drugs and/or alcohol! Only one toaster worked so big cues. Staff couldn't get drunks to be quiet but could charge me for key card breaking in their dorm door lock.

Would have been perfect had we not had to sit in the common room freezing with hat, scarf and gloves. Also - bathrooms were freezing and showers are terrible. No where to hang anything - also super cold. But the staff were amazing, Rafa in particular!

Great to stay with friends and alone as well, excellent location, friendly, but sometimes too noisy atmosphere, very free-minded place, good fresh breakfast-everything you need to entertain in Great Manchester!

A friendly, lively hostel in the Northern Quarter (if you like artsy etc) but still very close to the centre of town. No lockers in the rooms, but still felt safe and secure. Staff very helpful and nice, with activities happening every night (games, pub crawls). The building is very old (no lift) but the room and bathrooms were clean.

It was a nice hostel close to everything. I was on the 5th floor. The 1 bad thing about the hostel is that the lift isn't for customers and can be annoying if you have a heavy bag to lift 5 flights of stairs. In all a good hostel. I was there for a Man United match and will stay there again sometime in the future

Great place to chill in Manchester for a few days. Specially if you are going there to watch a ManU game.. ;) #reddevils

Very nicely located in the Northern Quarter. Stayed in a single bed room that felt like a coffin but was cozy enough for me. A few negatives is that you can constantly hear the traffic outside even from the 5th floor and there's a constant light that is hard to block out with the curtains. Be prepared for a climb if you're on the 5th floor (108 steps, i counted!). Was also a little annoying having to go down a level to use the bathroom and the ladies bathroom was only on the 2nd and 4th floor.
