freezing cold, dirty shower rooms, lukewarm shower unless someone was running sink taps at same time, no sleep as staff didn't enforce consideration to sleepers, music&chat 2am-4am in dining room by students high on drugs and/or alcohol! Only one toaster worked so big cues. Staff couldn't get drunks to be quiet but could charge me for key card breaking in their dorm door lock.

Hi there, I'm sorry you feel you had a bad experience with us. We are advertised as a 'party hostel and not for light sleepers' and we do try to accommodate for every individual needs. We action bad behaviour with group leaders, code of conducts and fines. We clean showers and bathrooms every day. But I hope you can tell us next time and maybe we can make your stay more comfortable than the one you experienced. Hope to see you again. Hatters

Would have been perfect had we not had to sit in the common room freezing with hat, scarf and gloves. Also - bathrooms were freezing and showers are terrible. No where to hang anything - also super cold. But the staff were amazing, Rafa in particular!

Thanks for your review and comments!! Due to the size of our common room, it can take a while for the heating to have an effect.... But it does get warm within a hour!! Rafa will be pleased to hear you enjoyed his free evening events!! Hope to see you again at Hatters Manchester!

Great to stay with friends and alone as well, excellent location, friendly, but sometimes too noisy atmosphere, very free-minded place, good fresh breakfast-everything you need to entertain in Great Manchester!

Thanks for such a great review!! Our large common areas make it easy to meet fellow travelers, and we're located in the centre on Manchester's northern quarter, which has plenty of awesome bars, cafes and live music venues!! Hope to see you again at Hatters!!

A friendly, lively hostel in the Northern Quarter (if you like artsy etc) but still very close to the centre of town. No lockers in the rooms, but still felt safe and secure. Staff very helpful and nice, with activities happening every night (games, pub crawls). The building is very old (no lift) but the room and bathrooms were clean.

It was a nice hostel close to everything. I was on the 5th floor. The 1 bad thing about the hostel is that the lift isn't for customers and can be annoying if you have a heavy bag to lift 5 flights of stairs. In all a good hostel. I was there for a Man United match and will stay there again sometime in the future

Thank you for your nice review!! Our lift is super old, and although we can't let you guests use it (for safety reasons!!) we will always help taking luggage up and down for you!! Glad you enjoyed your stay- guess it helps that Man U won!! See you again soon at Hatters Manchester!

Great place to chill in Manchester for a few days. Specially if you are going there to watch a ManU game.. ;) #reddevils

Very nicely located in the Northern Quarter. Stayed in a single bed room that felt like a coffin but was cozy enough for me. A few negatives is that you can constantly hear the traffic outside even from the 5th floor and there's a constant light that is hard to block out with the curtains. Be prepared for a climb if you're on the 5th floor (108 steps, i counted!). Was also a little annoying having to go down a level to use the bathroom and the ladies bathroom was only on the 2nd and 4th floor.

Thank you for your comments!! We do try to allocate guests to the appropriate floor so you don't have to go to a different floor for the bathrooms, but unfortunately this cannot always be helped... Glad you liked the Northern Quarter and hope you enjoyed your stay in Manchester!! Come and see us again at Hatters!!
