The staff couldn't have been more friendly! The really did the best the could for us! We booked two single rooms, but we could easily switch to a double when we asked. The hostel itself is a bit old and the rooms are really really small, but if you are looking for a cute Japanese style room and a place where you can feel truly welcome: this is the place you're looking for!

good location, short walk from chinatown and the train station. however, my friend and i both got sick from the airconditioning and the mattresses.

Even though for the lack of elevator, thanks to the great service the staff provided, my climb to the 5th floor was enjoyable and troublefree. From what I hear, one of the lodge owned by hostel village has a elevator for only males.

As a hostel, this place was really nice. You get your own little room, a washing machine a shower,a little kitchen, theres mounds of character to the place and the rooftop garden is really nice. However the area is pretty dodgy, I didnt feel safe walking around and didnt really like yokohamma. There are very poor and homeless people living right next to gangsters polishing their expencive cars all in the area surrounding the hostel.

Rooms are small, but cheap, so I can\'t really complain. It\'s in a building without an elevator and if your lucky like me and have a pretty heavy bag you\'ll be on the 5th floor!! :( The area is not good at all....It\'s a sketchy area!! The showers/bathrooms are kinda gross. I didn\'t shower in fear that I might come out dirtier. Your best bet is to make Yokohama a day trip if your staying in Tokyo.

gross. you can hear your neighbors from in their room down the hall with your door closed, the balconies are all interjoined (i did not feel safe sleeping with the window open, and with no AC on a humid sticky night that's pretty unpleasant) and found a couple bugs in my room. staff were quite nice (only good part of my stay, really) but i definitely would NOT stay here again.

Perhaps good location near the station, clean inn, with service of laundry, cooks, a little cold, and small rooms, but we were well there, although our room was in the fifth floor without elevator. I recommend east inn.

Staff was very friendly; told me about a concert happening in the city. Seemed like it was also a senior home, so not really a place to hang out. I liked the traditional tatami mat/futon sleep set-up. Kitchen and baths were not luxurious, but totally clean and serviceable.

We booked a room for two people and it was like a cupboard only 3 tatami mats.We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one night because it was so uncomfortable. It was in a terrible part of Yokohama. I would not feel very comfortable there as a single female. I got the feeling that The hostel is actually a cheap accomodation lodging for poorer men in the community. the area is the wrong side of china town It is not a place where you can relax and meet people at all.
