It was obvious from our stay there why the hostel was a topchoice in lonely planet! Great helpful staff who gave really good suggestions and directions and who organized activities daily like mahjong and BBQs! Everything a hostel should be and good value for money too
The idea behind the hostel is great, with all the gardens and the massive wooden bunkbeds. But as a result you have so many places to relax, that you don't really meet new people. And the bar is uncozy and dark.

Although all our spectacular plans for Chengdu had to be canceled because of the bad weather, the accomodation and staff did everything to make our stay at Chengdu a good one. They picked us up from the train station at five in the night and we could immediately go into our room to sleep, the food was great, tours were good, and the nice staff did a brilliant job in helping us planning the rest of our China trip.
Stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of July in a twin private room ensuite on the second floor. Room was small but cozy with a high wooden platform with two thin matrasses. T.v. has just a few channels but you can borrow lots of movies at the reception. The hostel is very roomy with a nice terrace and bar. The food was good. The elevator was handy too because my friend was injured and had to walk with crutches. The lovely Luo behind the bar was real friendly and cute!! Definitely a keeper! :)
It is a very friendly, warm atmosphere that is good for backpackers, families, and others who want to interact with locals and get the best advice on tours.

The best hostel I've ever seen. The staff is really nice and helpfull. A lot of activities are proposed, we can't get bored in your hostel, we even can spend all the day there. The atmosphere is calm, zen, and fun. Thank you for this time spent in your cozy garden.
This place had such a cosy atmosphere and homely feel. Lots of cute nooks and crannies to sit in. GREAT food served, lots of variety - especially useful if you're at a stage in your trip when you're missing some of those home comforts - like tea, pancakes or a full English breakfast! Stayed in a dorm which had a shower which is often rare, normally dorms have to use shared showers. Will be going back to this hostel when I am next having to transit Chengdu.
Sherri and the travel booking staff were amazing! They helped us book trips to jiuzhaigou and lhasa without any problems! Have stayed here 4 times now. The location is a little far from the metro, but bus 28 takes you there no problem. The food is great and very quick!
The atmosphere here is what we backpackers look for. There are lots of great communal areas to hang out and meet people. Also the staff is knowledgable and friendly, the kitchen has the best burgers in town and the dorm rooms all have small private lock boxes. This is one of the best hostels we've stayed in in China.
Nice, but pricey room. Staff were friendly and helpful, but a bit too sales-active when it came to tours...
Pay more attention to details. Every conner of the hostel is needed cleaning. However, the hostel is great. Keep your spirit.
A total surprise to see the facilities and green scenery inside the hostel. Really impressed with the restaurant there as well...great food at a great price. Would highly recommend the Panda morning tour as it is very cheap given all the extra costs/hassles you would have to incur if you tried to do it on your own
A great base to start a trip and meet some other travellers. The tourist desk staff are knowledgable and supply good maps, translations, and info. The location is a little out of the city centre, but buses are frequent and easy to use.
I enjoyed my stay. Staff is sincerely friendly and helpful which means that the not only have good intentions but also skill they were efficient In checking in and out and helpful in practical info as well as in travel advisory. Most importantly there is a warm and generous atmosphere. It offers services like laundry com refrigerator and so on. Rooms show wear but were clean. I met very nice young people here it also seemed to accommodate some older hostel clients as well as middle age ones

One of my favourite hostels in china! It offers everything you need with regular theme nights, a DVD library, games room and great bar with excellent food! Highly recommend the cooking class they offer here you can cook three dishes with a chef at a bargain price! The panda tour is also great and all the staff are amazingly helpfull! Thank you for a fab stay!
This place is and feels like an institution, you will feel at home in the big city, maps, laundry, information, tours all is available. It's not quite in the centre but well connected, it is fairly close to the northern bus station and train station. Their reservation and pickup system, with friendly Mr. Yang the driver worked very well. Sherry is a great manager and will remember who you are by name. Other staff are so so, they see too many people maybe. Sims is good though, recommended!
In one word: fantastic! The twin room was light and spacious, the food great and not expensive, lovely tours, friendly staff, beautiful courtyard, a travel agency that can book you airline and train tickets anywhere... Best. Hostel. Ever.
