The staff was extremely friendly & helpful!! Very open to conversation, sharing, and giving advice! Every day there are recommended activities posted on a whiteboard by entrance...found it to be very useful during my stay. The beds are extra comfy and there is always a warm, family feel in the common areas. WiFi worked great! Staff members speak several languages, making communication easy & accessible to anyone. Great place, highly recommended!!!

It was ok- it was cheap which is all we cared about but when you book for a 6bed dorm and they tell you you can't has it due to renovations- that sucks. ended up sleeping in a dorm with about 15 others instead. The place is not the cleanest but hey it was cheap and smack bang in a good spot of town

Hello Marseille was in a great location within walking distance of all the places we wanted to go. The common area was one of the best we have seen and great for making new friends. Our only complaint was the limited toilet and shower facilities. We had one toilet and two showers between three dorm rooms and the 10 odd staff that lived on the level below the hostel. The dorm rooms were quite nice and the lock up cupboards under the bed are very useful. Very happy with Hello Marseille overall!

I loved the openness of HelloMarseille. The "grand room" and open kitchen allowed for the guests to get to know one another, which isn't always the case at hostels. Also really enjoyed that this hostel is aimed towards a younger audience (aka backpackers) where a girl traveling alone felt more comfortable and the age difference isn't too extreme. The staff was great and the hostel was pretty clean for how much activity there was.

Practical place for backpackers, friendly staff, good ambience, good location in the city. Bathroom is not so clean and the fact that all the dorms are mixed is a bit strange. Good kitchen, perfect if you like to do your own food.

There needs to be someone who is actually at reception when there are problems. I tried several times to speak with someone only to find out they were unavalible. As well, having only one toilet facility makes it difficult for everyone else when everyone leaves at the same time. Breakfast could be served earlier and we should have been told when breakfast was since i did not get to have it either days as I was leaving too early.

Great value for money! The staff was incredibly friendly; the fact that the volunteers were travellers and open-minded people themselves made it all the more interesting. The location (close by the Vieux Port) was the best and we loved the "pain perdu" breakfast in the morning. Thanks!

They don't give you keys so you have to buzz the door every time to get in. The doors to the rooms don't lock and you have to bring your own key for the "lockers" which was fine. It's ran by volunteers who live there and were always in and out so I never knew who was working and who wasn't. When asked for suggestions the staff couldn't help us and told us to look it up on trip advisor. Only one toilet for the entire hostel. It was fine but wouldn't stay again.

We only stayed one night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure if it was just when we were there but there was no hot water. We booked for the two of us and they had us share a bed (2 twins zipped together) even when there were open beds. No locks on the actual rooms but big lockers under the beds.

Worst hostel ever i met. No respect for people who wanna to get sleep or rest. The rooms close to the reception and meeting room which very nousy and frustrated. The rooms seperated with doors not with walls so that is why it is nousy. You will unable to sleep up to 3-4 oclock night due to hi hih haha etc . I stayed there two night and didnt sleep well because of nousy. Dont go there Sleep on the bench outside rather inside this damned hostel.

What an awesome place to stay! Location, staff, fellow guests... Everything was perfect. Unforgettable. If you're looking for somewhere not just to sleep, but where you might find the friendliness and camaraderie of your dream hostel, then this is the place.

I was there just for a couple of nights during a business trip. The hostel was good, even if my roommates were snoring very noisily...
