Decent hostel with nice staff but small, with only one toilet. Good facilities in the kitchen and nice bunks. Our main issue was that we got kicked out for 4 hours with 10 minutes notice for maintanence when there were plenty of opportunities beforehand to advise us. Luckily we'd just had some lunch, others weren't so lucky and had to carry groceries around town for 4 hours.

Comfortable small hostel with nice atmosphere, very helpful staff. Only problem is safety, no lock on dorm rooms, seems like anyone could get in the hostel, and lockers in dorm had a big hole.

Hello Marseille was a fantastic hostel to stay while visiting the city! It is centrally located, and the staff are superb! They are all so kind, generous and always willing to help out!! I would recommend anyone to stay here while in Marseille.

Loved this hostel! Everyone here was so nice, and the staff was helpful with giving tips on things to do around town. The location can't be beat; great restaurants, pubs, and shops are all so close by that we scarcely used public transit. The "quiet at 10:30 pm" rule was not so strictly enforced in the common areas, but the dorm room I was in was always quiet. Street outside does get a little noisy, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Great showers, nice 'n' hot.

Not luxurious, but with nice atmosphere and all you need (also very clean!). If you need a lot of sleep and a lot of privacy, I would not recommend Hellomarseille. If you like meeting interesting people and want to have a cheap possibility to stay, it will be perfect for you!

We stayed here for two nights as part of our interrailing trip. Great location and facilities. The only critisism I would have would be the lack of air conditioning. We were in Marseilles in September and the nights were uncomfortably hot. Staff were very helpful though and the hostel has a great atmosphere (and free breakfasts!)

The staircase didnt have light and we had to use light from our cell phones to ensure not tripping. We werent given a key for the front door and were told to open it by slipping a hand inside a window which was deliberately kept open. (not really secure, is it?) WiFi wasnt working, neither was the printer. Linen was not very clean. Apart from the location, there were no real positives. Easily the worst hostel of my trip.

When arriving the hostel was extremely hard to find with no obvious sign outside. The staircase was completely dark, which provided difficulties when hiking up the hundreds of stairs. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful which put a damper on our stay. The wifi was non existance for our whole stay and the 'local' sights were not as advertised- a lot further away! There were no locks on the door outside of the building or in any of the rooms. The kitchen was also very small and limited.

Good price if you have Youth Card BUT there's somewhere you have to say you have one (on the booking) or you will have to pay 17€ on arrival and not "17 - deposit already made"... There are lockers under the bed (need to have your own lock). Just one working plug for the entire room of 6beds was not good. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom clean. Friendly staff and seemed a really good community dinner by the hostel (couldn't attend though). Good atmosphere and would go there again.

Nice friendly hostel near the port. Short walk to all the main sights of Marseille. Staff are friendly and helpful. But only had 1 toilet and 2 bathroom for the whole hostel to use.

The worst thing is: "There is only ONE toilet for all the people" Silence curfew 22:30 was completely DISRESPECT and staff didn´t care Guests didn´t have keys to enter to the facilities, so guest have to ring a bell to get the doors opened... so the entire hostel could hear the bell... ANNOYING you can´t rest Facilities were dirty and lack of care Lockers were broken, noisy and uneasy According to their webpage, breakfast is included... However they suggest you a donation Staff aren`t nice

Great place, nice staff, great that they have communal dinners for a very cheap price. Thanks Hello Marseille.

Hostel is clean and safe, but those are the only positive things I can say. Staff made us wait to check in because they were eating lunch, they hung the bed sheets to dry wherever they pleased in the rooms without asking, and they entered the rooms without asking/knocking. There is only one toilet for the entire hostel and the WiFi is only compatible with Apple products, not Android. There is one younger boy, probably in his 20s, who is particularly rude and unwelcoming. Don't stay here.

Great intimate hostel. Loved the group meals! It is a nice business based in alternative economy and the owner was there, present, and very helpful. The rest of the staff was hit and miss. In the summer expect it to be a bit hot most of the night though, only disappointment. Great location with transit, pharmacy, grocers, and center of action all very near, but not in the thick of it.

This hostel was okay. No key or lock on individual rooms which made me feel unsafe. Staff is always at the desk though so that's nice. Although one day we came to sit to plan our day on our bed and there were wet sheets hanging all over our room even on our bed so we could barely sit or get to our own things! Also only one toilet for the whole hostel - awful! We had a shower connected to our room so everyone in the hostel was in and out of our room constantly which made for little privacy.

What a pleasant surprise. This little hostel has the most wonderful staff and really great vibe to it. Security seemed lacking, many lockers were broken and there are no room door locks. Although the front door does seem well monitored enough. Great location and while Marseilles was nothing special, this hostel made up for it.
