Great location, cool people. Only one toilet for the whole hostel was kind of annoying, the kitchen was small and hard to manouvre if there was more than 5 people in it. Overall it is a good hostel but is not worth the money they charge for a shared dorm.

Decent hostel with nice staff but small, with only one toilet. Good facilities in the kitchen and nice bunks. Our main issue was that we got kicked out for 4 hours with 10 minutes notice for maintanence when there were plenty of opportunities beforehand to advise us. Luckily we'd just had some lunch, others weren't so lucky and had to carry groceries around town for 4 hours.
Comfortable small hostel with nice atmosphere, very helpful staff. Only problem is safety, no lock on dorm rooms, seems like anyone could get in the hostel, and lockers in dorm had a big hole.
Hello Marseille was a fantastic hostel to stay while visiting the city! It is centrally located, and the staff are superb! They are all so kind, generous and always willing to help out!! I would recommend anyone to stay here while in Marseille.
Loved this hostel! Everyone here was so nice, and the staff was helpful with giving tips on things to do around town. The location can't be beat; great restaurants, pubs, and shops are all so close by that we scarcely used public transit. The "quiet at 10:30 pm" rule was not so strictly enforced in the common areas, but the dorm room I was in was always quiet. Street outside does get a little noisy, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Great showers, nice 'n' hot.
Not luxurious, but with nice atmosphere and all you need (also very clean!). If you need a lot of sleep and a lot of privacy, I would not recommend Hellomarseille. If you like meeting interesting people and want to have a cheap possibility to stay, it will be perfect for you!

We stayed here for two nights as part of our interrailing trip. Great location and facilities. The only critisism I would have would be the lack of air conditioning. We were in Marseilles in September and the nights were uncomfortably hot. Staff were very helpful though and the hostel has a great atmosphere (and free breakfasts!)
The staircase didnt have light and we had to use light from our cell phones to ensure not tripping. We werent given a key for the front door and were told to open it by slipping a hand inside a window which was deliberately kept open. (not really secure, is it?) WiFi wasnt working, neither was the printer. Linen was not very clean. Apart from the location, there were no real positives. Easily the worst hostel of my trip.
When arriving the hostel was extremely hard to find with no obvious sign outside. The staircase was completely dark, which provided difficulties when hiking up the hundreds of stairs. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful which put a damper on our stay. The wifi was non existance for our whole stay and the 'local' sights were not as advertised- a lot further away! There were no locks on the door outside of the building or in any of the rooms. The kitchen was also very small and limited.
Good price if you have Youth Card BUT there's somewhere you have to say you have one (on the booking) or you will have to pay 17€ on arrival and not "17 - deposit already made"... There are lockers under the bed (need to have your own lock). Just one working plug for the entire room of 6beds was not good. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom clean. Friendly staff and seemed a really good community dinner by the hostel (couldn't attend though). Good atmosphere and would go there again.
