A+ nice staff, good facilities, excellent location

One of the best hostels I have stayed in!

The only problem was that is allowed to smoke inside of the hostel. So for the non-smokers that is really awful.

I loved Helter Skelter Hostel!

Plus: cheap rates, impressive breakfast included if you stay 4 nights, large bathrooms, spacious dorms with adequate heating, old building, perfect location. Negative: only 1 roomkey, a smoking allowed policy is maintained in the lounge/bar/kitchen area, the hostel can become pretty noisy because it attracts mainly a party public, nothing wrong whith that but if you are looking for a quiet place to sleep you might get dissapointed here. Recommended if you accept these consequenses.

This hostel was nothing like what we were expecting. If you're not a smoker don't come here. The rooms are extremely average considering what you can get in hostels for the same price. It's noisy, they allow people to smoke in the common room/bar and it is literally difficult to breath and your clothes get saturated with a smoke smell. We stayed one night only because it was too late for us to find another. The staff were nice and understating that it was not what we wanted and refunded us.

This is my second time staying at this hostel and I would recommend it to anyone. Great, cheap, clean, place with the friendliest and most helpful staff ever.

teh hostel is real party place if you like music and pool and to be able to smoke where e ever you want to then this is the place for you the breakfast was fantastic the location was terific half way between the main street in berlin go to the concentration camp near by you need all day there take the audio guide its far better than auchtvitz and has to be the best camp there is the streets are wide enough for 6 tanks abreast maybe they are expectin world war 3 to start up

Best hostel ever, and I've already been in a lot.

the staff is terrible, they wake me up at night becuase they do not have a control in their computers, it is too far from the center, and the beds are terrible, they staff was the worst thing !!!! to girls were really unrespectfull.

the music in the common area is way too loud. breakfast is great.

Smoking was allowed in the common area, through which everyone must pass to get to the rooms. Everything smelled like smoke.

this was an incredible hostel, really clean and a great location, amazing for the price they charge!!

I was there for a second time. And the next time I hope I choose HelterSkelter again. It is cheap, it has a good location, it has a free Wi-Fi (despite more expensive hostels does not provide with such facility), it even has cheap and tasty breakfasts (I wish they started on 6am, not 8am, since being backpacker means to go to a train early).

Looks great on paper, but they don't do anything special for you. Bernie was awesome, but the next guy was sarcastic and rude.

The hostel was fine. The location is near Hackescher Market, which is a 15 minute walk from Alexanderplatz but it is right next to subway stop. Safe to walk alone at night. The lockers outside are safe, the ones in the room were not and the room is never locked. It is true we only get one key per room, so nothing is secure. The all girls room was quiet at night and the showers did have low windows, so cover it with your towel or something. Cheap and free wifi. Good for its price.

After a certain hour it would be nice to have some respect for people who would like to sleep. We rented a bed ... not a club ... Thank you for next time and for other people. Drunk people should stay outside and come back when they are quieter...
