Small rooms right above the bar, you have to go into the bar first, sound from the bar at night was fine though, narrow staircase but all good. One bathroom per floor so it could be busy, great location on the river and short walk to old town

The room was good but the floor was very old and makes too much sound while walking. Even with a small step. Also the door of the room was almost broken and you can hear all the sounds from the hall and the next door. The cleanliness and the location is very good. However, the hostel is on up-floor of Hemingway's cafe and there is no lobby. The bar tenders are responsible from checking-in and checking-out (if we can say they are really responsible!!!) and there is no professionalism.

We stayed in a very spacious double room with a shared bathroom on the second floor, but we were only sharing the bathroom with one other room and we hardly saw the other people. The room was airy, bright and spotlessly clean, with great views across the river. We had breakfast (not included) in the bar and it was very good, as were the drinks the night before. We'd definitely stay here again.

Good value for a centrally located, spacious private room. With only one other room on our floor there was never a wait for the shared bathroom. We were also concerned about bar and street noise given the location but noise turned out not to a big problem. Travelers should be aware that you need to climb lots of steep narrow stairs to get to the rooms, and the hostel is a sort of add-on to a bar/restaurant so there's no traditional reception area or housekeeping services.

Simple, easy, clean, convenient, I found the Hemingway hostile and excellent value. I would definitely stay there again. We arrived pretty late but they were still ready for us.

Small, but really convinient and quiet room, VERY NICE personnel, located directly over a restaurant with delicious food and directly in the center of the old town town next to the riverside. If I stay in Heidelberg again, I will defnitly stay in this hostel;)
