We loved this hostel! The rooms were spacious and modern, the washrooms were clean and we had a nice view of the river. Despite the steep stairs to the rooms, which made carrying luggage difficult, the rooms were well worth the climb! Would stay here again for sure!

Huge bedrooms and very nice facilities. In the old-town too! Great place to stay!

Cosy place with stylish decoration on the edge of the old town. Room 222 on the 3rd floor is huge and comfy. Very kind and helpful staff. Good pub food and a wide range of booze, especially some exquisite rum.

This hostel has a perfect location in the centre of the city near the river and the shopping way. It is clean, but is rather old-fashioned. In the ground floor there is a bar where you can have breakfast or a drink in the evening. There unfortunately no kitchens on the floors, so you can't cook yourself. Rooms are rather small but cosy and clean. Internet is available only as free WiFi in the bar. And there is no elevator, mind it if you have heavy luggage.

Great place. Good location (walking distance to the castle and also above a pub by the same name!), friendly staff and decent rooms. It's not a party hostel but if you feel like a bit of privacy with the option of a beer or ten downstairs then this is your place.

Location good, at beginning of old town/shopping area. Tram ride from train station €1.10 which is close to hostel. Standard room. If you have heavy luggage be prepared for tight and long stair case to your room, bring muscles or a cute face to get them to the top.

A lovely hostel with a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful rooms.

This hostel is well-located, but the WLAN did not work from our room on the second floor. The room was OK in appearance and cleanliness, but very small. The combination restaurant/hostel means that you need to go into the restaurant to get service, and often must wait a while since there's just one person responsible for both serving food and taking care of the hostel guests. Credit cards are not accepted, so be sure to have enough cash on you when paying. On the whole "OK", not great.

Convenient central location with the accommodation rooms a couple of floors above the hostel bar/restaurant which was very nice - good quality food and impressive range of excellent Whisky. Very friendly and helpful staff all of whom spoke excellent English. Free wifi was also available and bar staff were kind enough to allow use of their pc and printer to print off my train ticket when checking out. Would happily stay again and will definitely recommend to others.

Great place, unfortunately I was not told that I could not pay with Credit Cards, but only CASH... So I had to negotiate with the host to pay him later...

it would be nice to have wifi in the room and a city-map at the frontdesk. our room was beautiful and the location was great. also the food in the restaurant/bar that is part of the hostel was very good!

Very good room and location. However this is definitely not good for single travelers, to make friends. Moreover any noise from other rooms/doors can be heard.

Actually this place is a classic hostal over a pub, its located in the other side of the road that borders the river, so you get that enchantment felling of being in an old fashioned place. In stood a private room and for the exception that the bathroom was shared it was a dream place. It goes with the attitud of the rest of the city. Perhaps not cheap, but very nice

Great location. Highly recommended. It's not a typical hostel. The first two floors belong to a bar, and the other floors are converted to hostel rooms. Our floor had two rooms and a shared bathroom. The check in is at the bar. Staff is very friendly. It's right by the river, close to Bismarktplatz, and within walking distance to the University and the Church. It is an old building, so expect steep staircase, creaking floors, and shaking when doors are closed too hard. It was great.

Lovely double rooms with a modern shared bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean. Great location. Friendly staff. The floor boards were a bit squeaky, but there were only 2 rooms on our floor, so noise wasn't a problem.

It's a tiny hostel--only three private rooms, but they are at the top of the building, so if you're coming through Heidelberg on your way to fly from Frankfurt, mind the fact that there is no elevator! The "en suite" bathroom is shared by the 6 or 7 people in three rooms, and when we were there, our window was broken, our room door was broken, the bathroom door handle was broken...I don't think much of their maintenance staff, basically!
