Amir and his whole family are adorable, really helpful, and have lots to tell curious people about what happened there in the 90's. The hostel is really clean, Amir and his brother offer bosnian coffee and loukoum (and teach their guests how to drink the coffee "the right way"), and Milan (their cousin) can take you for a tour of Mostar (half a day) or of the region (whole day). Definitely enjoyed staying there, and i'd love to go back !

Thanks Almir and Alize for being such great hosts - we really enjoyed our stay. It's obvious you cared about our comfort and enjoyment - the place is so friendly, neat and clean also, which makes a big difference. Wishing you more success in your 2nd season next year :-) For travellers,this is a lovely place to stay. The approach to the hostel is a little unclear (and maybe a bit off-putting) but only 10 mins walk from the station, in a back lane behind DP supermarket;5 mins from Old Bridge.

Great location near the bridge and the old town. Fantastic hosts. We were served tea, grapes and something similar to turkish delight.

Truly excellent place. Almir and his brother are super nice, friendly and highly educated. One reason, good or bad yo go to Mostar is to learn about the war, and they lived it, they will tell you everything you want to know and it is nice to see they don't have an ounce of resentment. Every night they invite you to come down to drink coffee or tea and eat grapes, it is a great idea. They also really care about how to improve their hostel. The suggestions I gave them were implemented in seconds.

This Hostel is the best I have stayed in since travelling around Europe. Not only are the rooms great value for money, but the owners 'make yourself feel at home' attitude was incredible. Nightly coffee with the family and other guests was a nice touch. The owner also insisted on collecting us and taking us back to the train station free of charge, which I haven't come across anywhere else. I will definatly be staying here again. A lovely home within a hostel. Thank you, Harry.

The hospitality in the hostel starts in the station, just when Almir picks you up at your arrival to Mostar. Since there...nothing but great surprises you will discover yourself! You will be thinking in repeating the experience before u even left.

I don't usually review hostels but I was compelled to do so for hostel hercegovina as my 2 friends and I had the best experience whilst staying here. We decided to stay another night due to loving the hostel and its staff, our love of Mostar and the tour they offered which we participated in and recommened it to anyone travelling to Mostar. Honestly I had the most amazing time and the staff were incredibly helpful (even dropping us at the train station the next morning)

The Staff was very friendly and helpful, they know many important things about Mostar and the sorroundings. The Hostel in 5 minutes to the Old Bridge, and the main attractions. I recommend becaulse it is a really nice place to stay in Mostar!

Really good new hostel, great beds, very clean rooms with air con. the owner is very helpful and hospitable. One extra shower and toilet would be nice, they are working on it for next year. Would recommend this place. Also you can get a ride from and to the bus station.

This hostel was perfect! They have just opened it and though it's so good! The owner came to get us from the bus station (on foot it's about 10-15min) and showed us the town etc.He even had bought the bus tickets to the nxt destination for us 'cos I was worried if we could get them 'cos it was the high season. There' s a nice little kitchen for cooking and it's very clean. They arrange every evening a meeting so everyone could get to know each other and served their own fruits!!

Friendly staff, good location to the old mesta.Hostel is a little hidden away from the main road so no noise of cars and people.

We really enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly, he picked us up when we got lost. It's amazing how he can bring all the guests together, the evenings were very cosy, with the watermelon, (very strong) coffee and the great story's about the city and his history....We won't forget the very sweet and big birthdaycake!!! Great job for only the 2months the hostel is open. We really felt like home.

The hostel was opened less than two months ago, what means that the facilities are in very good conditions and it is equiped with air cooling system and so on. The location is very good, close to the old bridge which is the main touristic atraction in Mostar. The staff is very very friendly. They picked us up at the bus station and took us there when we left, for free. If anybody wants to learn more about the history of Bosnia-Hercegovina and Mostar in particular, this is the right place!!!

It's one of the best hostel we have ever seen! It's really a lovely place, very close to the main attractions of the town, but in a silent street. It has got all the facilities you need. The hosts are wonderful people! They do their best to make you feel home! In the evening you can meet the other guests in the garden, drink Turkish coffee and make friends, talking about everything. We will never forget this place. Hope to come back someday! We wish you all the best!

We have spent amazing time in Hostel Hercegovina. In a cheap and nice place in the city center we met really open and welcoming people who take care for the guest not just cleaning the rooms (yup, they were of course clean;)) but also driving us from and to the bus station, serving Bosnian coffee and sharing the experience of surviving war and talking about current situation in Bosnia. We felt really familiar there and this stay made us think we have to come back immediately:)

Met this hostel was one of the biggest sorprise I had on my trips. Definetly the best one ever. The houselord came us to pic up on the station and take a ride around the city to see the views. He spent at least one hour talking about the place and its history. Everything works perfect on the kitchen and on the room. We went there the first Ramadan day and he invite us a dinner. During the night he likes to talk with the hosts and there is a meeting on the garden that is amazing.

A very nice, brand-new place, definitley a top place. The most important thing to say is that it belongs to great, open, friendly, helpful people. The owner cares that everybody felt at home, and people spend evenings discussing Balkans and other stuff at the evening coffee. My sincere recommendations!
