The staff was terrible. There were huge protests just down the road. Most roads to the hostel were blocked and the hostel did not even mention it when I checked in or when I went out. As a solo female travel, I would at least expect a warning. There were police everywhere. Taxis would not even bring me back to the hostel....yet the hostel charged for checking out early( had to pay for the last night, though I moved to a much better place)

Good hotel. Not very central (if you want central location, most guest houses are near Khao San Road) but good room quality, caring staff and secure area (with ministries around). Opaque curtains could be added as our room curtains didn't filter light : we got awaken by light a bit early but not a big problem. Price a bit high but value for money remains ok.
