It was an exciting experience. We enjoyed very much our stay here and would like to thank a lot to the stuff of the hotel for being so helpful and nice. The place is an old Edo house with big, clean rooms and gorgeous garden, located close to the Hida Folk Village (Hida no Sato), it is a little bit away from the city center but there are buses operating and you can also ask for a pick up from the hotel. To get most of your stay try as well their breakfast or lunch. It was an exciting experience. Hida Gassho-en is about a 5 minute drive out of town, the staff will pick you up from the train station. takayama is a very beautiful city. i supose it would be a more traditional style ryokan, breakfast is an experience that must be had. many types of food are available in town, hire a bike in town and ride, its so much fun and so easy. the place is clean and the staff are friendly, one or two staff speak english, but really we're the one's who don't speak much japanese.Hida Gassho-en is about a 5 minute drive out of town, the staff will pick you up from the train station. takayama is a very beautiful city. i supose it would be a more traditional style ryokan, breakfast is an experience that must be had. many types of food are available in town, hire a bike in town and ride, its so much fun and so easy. the place is clean and the staff are friendly, one or two staff speak english, but really we're the one's who don't speak much japanese....Close
