A terrible place to stay. I stayed in a 3 man room with a mate and we were only given one key. Unfortunately a lock-out occurred as both of us thought the key was with the other. At this point the hostel owner publicly humiliated us by making my mate slap me across the face in order to give us the spare key to regain access to our room to "teach us a lesson." Kitchen and lounge look like they've never been cleaned - horrible. Definitely worth booking early and staying at Mt Cook YHA.

I have no complants everything as excellent very clean,frendly staff great atmosphere BUUUTTTTTTTTT MOST OF ALL didn't have far to go back to my room after a very very late nite LOL
