Everyone was so friendly, and the place was so relaxed. It was an awesome atmosphere to come back to every day.

Great staff and great location. The room was a bit small but really can't complain for the price and location of the place.

I'd recommend anyone travelling alone to skip this hostel. Although the location and the facilities are great 90% of the people staying here work at the hostel, and create a little community; which would be nice, if they allowed anyone else to be involved. I've stayed in hostels all over the world and have never felt less welcome.

Really cute hostel, actually quite big, although it had the feel of a smaller hostel. Great showers, one of the best I've had in a hostel. It is frustrating that you can only get wifi in the reception area, even if not in the rooms, it would be nice if they could extend it to the dining room where there is plenty of space. No power outlets in rooms, but there are mirrors and extension cords in hallways to compensate. Great location, big functional kitchen. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

I was looking for a flat so I stayed a few days in this hostel. It was very nice to talk with people on the evening, and the common rooms are great! A little bit disturbed by people coming in and out of the dorms at night, but otherwise it was a great place to stay! Good value for money, and great location to going out!

Great location, right off the Royal Mile and close to where the Free Tour leaves from. Staff is very friendly and helpful, but I got the opposite impression from fellow travelers. Everyone kept to themselves/in their groups, so as someone traveling alone, I did not get the chance to meet new people. Comfortable lobby and good spot to charge electronics, since there's no outlets in the rooms.

My girlfriend and I spent three nights here, during our Scotland discovery week. The hall is like going inside a friends house, everybody really relaxing, using the free wifi connection and listening to relaxing music.

cheap and cheerful. fantastic central location. very helpful friendly staff. free tea and coffee. clean hand towels in bathroom every morning. cheap breakfast available each morning. booked a double private room which was very small, but only wanted it for sleeping in, so it did the job. will be booking to stay there next Edinburgh trip.

The location was in the perfect place. Unfortunately the seemed to be a lingering smell of urine in the rooms. Not exactly what we were lookin for in our stay. Staff were very helpful, I don't have a bad word to say about them. I understand that it is a hostel but some sprucing up and ensuring the sheets smell fresh would make the place much better. If I wa stuck for somewhere to stay I would choose this hostel. But I would try other avenues first.

Excellent hostel, the showers were brilliant and staff laid back. Could have done with bigger lockers as bag didn't fit in. The location and atmosphere was great.

The sheets didn't look too clean, but the room was ok in general. Lockers in the room. The upper beds looked dangerous, cause there's nothing in front. I was scared of falling out of the bed. All in all it was ok. The staff was friendly.

The hostel was kind of humid and smelly. Also no socket and wifi signal in the room. Only two sockets in the corridor. And the toilet & bathroom were all unisex. It was not convenient.
