I like that place. It is closed for everything.

Washrooms are a bit small for the number of people on the floor, had to queue up in the morning. Other than that, pretty standard.

My friends and I were really happy with our stay in the hostel. Our dorm was cosy, beds were comfortable and bathroom facilities were clean. While we didn't avail of the £1.90 breakfast it looked very decent! Also, the staff were helpful and happy to answer any questions if asked.

The hostel was really good location wise. It's about a fifteen minute walk from the Edinburgh Castle if you go at it slow and close to pubs and shops if you wanna spend some time buying souvenirs for family and friends. The wifi is great here if you're looking to send emails and messages home for sure it connects without any problems. The only real downside I found for the hostel was the beds. They were nothing but foam mattress overlays and if you have back issues bring medication for it.

They have lockers in the room and provide your own key for the locker- nice touch. The wifi is a bit slow. Good location to get to everything.

Location was splendid, very central and near to train station. Toilets were clean and staff were friendly. Only complain would be that the top bunk beds have no railings and felt a little unsafe. It would be better if there were single sex communal toilets.

Overall a good hostel, at least comparing to others that I've staid in. Wifi was working ok in bedroom and common areas. Breakfast was ok, eat what you want style, for £1,80. No individual lights in beds. Bathrooms were ok, one in each floor (2 toilette and 3 showers each). Would stay again, if Castle Rock is fully booked.

Nice place to spend time in Edinburgh, in the middle of the city and with a lot of facilities. Worthwhile.

Has a fully equipped kitchen (stove, microwave, oven, free tea and coffee and milk, 1.90£ breaky, lots of storage and tables), great common room with music, tables, sofas and a pool table, good wifi hostel wide (in rooms aswell), 20 second walk from the Main Street (great location) 2 power points per bed next to bed, free safe lockers in room, cheap towel hire (20p), smelly room (could do with more ventilation / care), bathrooms good and great showers (warm and powerful and no waiting time).

Better than any Premier Inn or Travelodge I have ever stayed at. Very cheap, right in the heart of the city centre, lots of facilities, very friendly staff and very generous bed sizes even the 10-bed dormitory. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh.

Liked this hostel a lot. Awesome common area - pool table, comfy couches, games, TV, spacious kitchen, plenty of seating, smoking terrace - just great! Bathrooms are spacious and kept clean as well as the rooms. Comfy area in reception as well. Good location - walking distance from train and bus station. Supermarket around the corner, as well as many shops and restaurant. Princes street only a few min walk away. Would definitely stay here again. Awesome vibes and nice facilities. Cheap too!

The hostels facilities were great! Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, good washrooms and clean showers. As a solo backpacker though, this hostel had no atmosphere. Hard to meet people as there's so many permanent / long term people that live there. The kitchen is great, but once again there's so many long term people living there that there's never any room in the fridges etc. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, it was great, but not that great for a couple day stay.

A nice hostel, but it didn't have the best solo traveller atmosphere. Great location though and large kitchen.

Great hostel, felt very safe, and was in a good location. Very happy with our stay.

Great hostel with a great atmosphere. Really lovely staff who will go beyond their duty of call to ensure you are well looked after, as well as chat with you. The hostel feels like a small community, rather than corridors of dorm rooms and bathrooms. Many people stay here long term and it's not hard to see why. Will definitely stay again next time!

Thank you for your feedback. This time of the year we only have the heating on for a couple of hours a day, which seems to be working fine for most guests, but we are grateful for your suggestion. Enjoy your travels.
