very smelly in hallway downstairs from damp - room clean. I will not stay here again - when the mould is cut from the bread and then returned to the dining room I feel that is not acceptable - shame - good location - ruined by cutting of corners. Kitchen is overcrowded and constantly filled with a laundry trolley. I got the impression that the soap in the room was left from a previous guest - sorry couldnt recommend this place - signs confusing - need to be written more clearly

Very small room in the basement, hardly any daylight. We only stayed there for one night, which was okay. We wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay. Very friendly staff, basic breakfast.

Excellent location but lacking the Scottishness... Rooms had dust and lots of moths and spiders... Otherwise all good...

Robert the manager was very nice but the state of the room was horrible. Bathroom not cleaned, the sheets not changed. Unacceptable.

Do not rely. They overbook the hostel, so you can arrive there and find that you have a worse room for the same price.

This place has some good and some very bad features. The good ones first: The manager was very kind and helpful, although very busy. Laundry facilities (busy too) for only 5 pounds. Perfect location. Cheap parking place, only 3 pounds a day. And now the BAD features: Extremely simple breakfast, only some cereals and jam, average quality. Crowded breakfast room, you have to queue. And absolutely HORRIBLE bed, impossible to sleep there, you can feel all the mattress coils. NEVER COME BACK A...More

I booked this hotel because of good reviews, but the worst hotel ever!Check out: http://tinyurl.com/lswn7s When I arrived, I was told that there is no room left (despite we had confirmed booking and the owner kept \"Vacancy\" at the entrance), I got a different room from what I booked (double shared bathroom instead of single ensuite). Awfully dirty landscape from my window, weird smelling room, sheets have holes, hard to close window, dirty & wet towels and no mirror (room & bathroom). Dont g...More
