Hikers Hostel Plovdiv Reviews

The staff are amazing and the atmosphere really great! Its very homely. The shower pressure and temperature was great but in the winter, the bathroom itself was freezing!! The room we stayed in (twin share) was very small. But I would definately stay there again because of the atmosphere and the location and great price!

Things that didn't work included: the heating (just a side heater), the toilet, Only two things I know, but, cmon. A tough life. All the below reviews seem to think that staying in the dorm is better than the apartments (we did the latter), and it seems likely to be true. Lots of laughing, smiling, folks in the main house, lots of drab, white, walls and unworking toilets in the apartment. Probably should have booked their competitor, either way.

My overall impression of this place is good, and the staff were extremely helpful, but there was one problem: the cold! The dorms are on the main premises, and the private rooms are two streets away. This isn't a problem at all - it's only five mins' walk through a pleasant part of town - but in the building with the private rooms, the common areas are utterly FREEZING! Even when it's warm outside, it's icy inside. So if you come here, bring a big fluffy robe for your journey to the bathroom ;-)

We stayed in the apartments which were in a great location. Bathrooms were not great, room was very basic. Staff was awesome. Main hostel looked better

Sonya, Velin and Nelly are wonderful hosts, right from the start, they were very friendly! This hostel had a lot of character and it was always nice to come "home" as the place made me think of a little French wooden cottage where it's warm and cosy after a long day outside. The rooms are atypical and it made it all the more charming. We really enjoyed our stay and it was kinda hard to leave. I would definitely recommend this place!

Best value location, situated right in the middle of old town. Great view from the breakfast room over Plovdiv.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a great time meeting other travellers in a cozy and homely atmosphere. Right in the old town, but the way up the hill on bumpy stones is best with rucksack not trolly.

The private room we stayed in was in an apartment away from the actual hostel but it was everything we wanted and we had a nice short walk in the morning to the hostel for breakfast. Good stay- no complaints

Great hostel, excellent location in a beautiful city. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Hostel was generally clean, just our room was bit dirty when we arrived.

Really great place to relax or find out about what to do in and around Plovdiv. Wish I could have stayed longer! Met some great people and the staff really helped with planning other parts of my trip. Shower was a little annoying, but it was so cheap I didn't care. Free WiFi worked great.

We enjoyed staying in Plovdiv and the hostel was great for our needs. It's a shame the satellite building is a bit of a way from the main hostel but it's nice that it's so close to town. The wet room-style shower/toilets could be better.
