Nice homestay run by extremely friendly family who went out of their way to help us when we found ourselves in difficulty. A little further outside town, so accessible only by tuk-tuk or car. Basic but adequate room with good wifi, clean, spacious bathroom.

A fan in the common room would be nice. First time in months of backpacking that bed sheets were extra. Very far away from town and hard to find. Signs to help tuk tuk drivers not a bad idea

The only recommendation I would have would be to offer a pick-up service but I know this would be difficult to organise as Prasad is away working in Colombo during the week. Tuk-tuk drivers take advantage of Western travellers. Follow the guidelines on Hostelword i.e. DO NOT PAY OVER 150Rs from Peradinya or 400Rs from Kandy!

I stayed 2 nights in Hillcrest home. Its managed by a kind little family. They help you in organazing trips and provide a sri lankan breakfast in the morning (included in the room price). The hostel is located a little bit outside the city and surrounded by jungle, very natural. I really enjoyed my time in the Hillcrest home.

This is such a lovely family to stay with! They always make sure you have everything you need and make you feel such at home - we had an amazing time and would definately go back! we loved that it was outside of the city, beautifully located! We will miss the family a lot. If you have the chance to stay here don't miss it.

Nice rural location yet close to Peradeniya town and easy access to Kandy. Good for nature lovers - lots of monkeys, squirrels and sunbirds here. Nice friendly family with good knowledge of the area.

The homestay is lovely altough the location is a little bit hard to find. It's on a mountain 30min bus ride from Kandy. The family who runs the place are very friendly! Stay there if u need escape from the city buzz.

A nice and quiet little place...amazing view from the living room. Not in the centre of kandy (but this is a good thing). Woke up to the sound of monkeys and birds.The family that run the place are absolutely lovely, and are willing to help out with everything. The facilities are basic but clean, but good value for money. The only thing I would maybe suggest is possibly buy a fan, as the rooms can get a bit hot at night.
