Although it was a bit of a climb to get to the hostel, it was really great and I would definitely stay again! Good location and clean rooms.

Peter was helpfully. We just booked 2 night and then we decided stay 2 more nights And he found space for us in another hostel. 2 mints walk from peter's hostel. He told us everything about split. The rooms are very clean and bathroom in perfect conditions. The kitchen is very small but is fine for take your breakfast. The people there was very friendly and nice. I will recomend this hostel 100% !!!! Thanks peter!!! And about the location put some map for make easier the arriving!

Our stay at Hiltop was ok. But there was no air conditioning as advertised in our private room, when we asked Peter he said we got a private balcony instead. The photos aren't accurate: there is no common area/TV area or lounge room and the kitchen is smaller with no dining room table. The kettle in the kitchen was broken, we were told it was going to be replaced that day but wasn't.Peter is a nice host but the photos & details don't accurately represent the place.Otherwise nice, generally clean

Hiltop is an amazing hostel! Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and lockers are provided. Peter was an excellent host and was extremely helpful! It was abit of a walk up the Marjan hill but for the price, its definetly worth it! The view from Marjan hill was beautiful and its one of the attractions in Split!:) Definitely recommend hiltop as a place to stay in Split!

Its really hard to get there, there are no signs aouside de building. When we arrived there we had to go to other hostel to borrow wifi and send a wapp to the owner because he wasnt there. When we finally found the hostel it was really little, clothes habging everywhere and really dirty. We didnt enjoy sleeping there, it just for 1 night!

It's not a hostel, more like a converted flat. A 10-15 minute walk to city, buses, etc. Not bad though. Other reviews about owner are correct. Was fine for a couple days

The hostel is new and clean, and in a good location really close to the town center. Only slight negative was that there is no common area, so it's not as social as other hostels.

Only here for one night. Room was clean and had all facilities needed (great air con). No common room so you'd only meet people in your room/ hallway. The hostel owner wasn't there for check in and didn't arrive until 11pm that night to collect money. As we had an early flight the next day, we were already in bed and had given our money to his cousin. Overall, it has potential but at the moment just has an odd feel.

The photos are not accurate. No common room. This is a decent and clean hostel, I'm not why actual photos of the place are not shown. Owner is a bit intrusive. Doesn't bother knocking when entering the dorm room.. And he will enter.. Numerous times a day.

Our stay at the hilltop was certainly enjoyable. We had an ensuite 6 bed room and the room was spacious and clean. The air conditioning in the room was fantastic and much needed. Our room had a balcony too to hang wet clothes and towels and just to look over split. Peter, the owner was very keen to help out where possible too. The hostel is more like a house or apartment it felt but it was nice and quiet for us. It is somewhat hard to find at first so better signs are needed.

The directions to the hostel weren't very good and I got seriously lost and the pictures didn't match where I stayed but overall I had an enjoyable time at this hostel. The location while away from the old town offers an easier route to the park on the mountain and several niche beaches. Not a supermarket in sight but with the fife restaurant you may not want one. Very clean and I was able to use the washing machine free of charge. Shower needs a curtain and an attachment point.

Great hostel! Peter is a great host, extremely helpful with everything from things to do in Split to helping with transportation. His cousin Bepo is also extremely helpful and they make a great team! Location is perfect, and the room is clean, safe and great for meeting other travellers. Would highly recommend 10/10!!

Place is pretty far away from the square and hiking up that hill with packs was not ideal.. Very hard to locate due to lack of signs etc. Man who runs it is very nice. Good place to stay for a night or so.. Comfortable feel

Nice hostel, our twin private room had a balcony which was really nice. But there's no aircon only a fan which was hard in the very hot summer and there are only 2 bathrooms between quite a lot of people so you really have to compete to get time! It could really benefit from a separate toilet. It's a little difficult to find: go right to the end of the dead end, up the stairs and to the first floor of the building where the door is open. It's in a good part of the city though hilly!
