Jared is awesome, the hostel is big and the bathrooms were kept clean. My spots of worry for the hostel are the no lockers, either inside or out of the rooms, and the street noise was rather loud in the morning. 'Kitchen' is very randomly placed, with the sink in one place, the fridge in another, and the plates in yet another. And the bathroom count is probably a bit low. But for all that, I still give high marks, as it was a friendly place, and the 'door' security was good. Ample parking.

Great hoste!!!!l, very clean, spacious, and well located within the centre of town. Staff are fun, friendly and helpful to all your needs. A big thank-you to Jared who offered great assistance on all local activities, tours, and transportation around the area. Also big thanks to local affiliated taxi driver Roy for all his interesting stories about the area and getting me from A to B. If your visiting Hilo, this is the place to be!!!!!!!

Jared was welcoming and helpful. I felt at home and enjoyed my time at the hostel. Jessica was available at any moment. The thing I did not know about is that there is plentyof parking. I am returning tioth hostel tomorrow and then leaving the Big Island. Ireta Fisher

When I made reservations, the price was cheap and rating was good. And it turned out it is true! We arrived there in night and it seemed that the outlook of the building was somewhat old so we thought that this is why this place is cheap.... but when I entered the hostel and talked to the staff and looked around, it was really some waht out of my expectation in a good way. If you're going to be in Hilo and want to save money, this place is the best I guess.

Very friendly staff, helpful. Hostel clean and generally quiet, great location for exploring downtown Hilo, farmer's market. Bed in private room was exceptional! Definitely recommend.

Staff was excellent - friendly, helpful, and considerate. Sordan and Jarred were great guys to get to know. The only fault with the hostel is that there are only two bathrooms. And that Hilo isn't exactly bustling with activities.

I haven't felt as comfortable, welcomed, and safe during my travels as I did at Hilo backpackers. The staff is warm and friendly, the hostel is clean, and the facility is on the better side of what you expect from a hostel. The common area downstairs is large and good for socializing and the quiet hours upstairs allow you to get a good nights rest.

Three bathrooms in total for the entire hostel? Simply not enough. Huge common room. Nice beds in big rooms. Free parking.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff, particularly Jared was very friendly and helpful. I think having lockers and a couple of laundry machine would really add to the value of this place.

The place has very little character, only 1 computer and not a very good kitchen area.

We stayed in the private double room, and it was amazingly spacious, complete with dresser drawers and a hanging rack. The bed was king sized and there was also a small table with 2 chairs. The employees are pretty chill and nice, it there was one who (when tired) seemed easily irritable. Overall I was quite impressed with the cleanliness of the shared bathroom, especially when compared to the hostel we stayed at in Waikiki. I definitely recommend this hostel if you plan to travel to Hilo!
