Really friendly staff, bit of a hike from the bus station but very easy walk. We stayed in the 'sun room' the double room which was as stated very very sunny in the mornings! But it was fine. Showers had a bit of a drainage problem. Breaky was good.

I loved my stay in Hippo Hostel. The staff is very kind and the hostel is clean, with a nice kitchen where you can prepare your own meal. The garden is thé hang out of the hostel; a great place for fresh fruits, a drink and some talking, but also for the BBQ. Hippo Hostel has this warm and welcome atmosphere. A great place to meet some great people.

Great hostel in terms of atmosphere and facilities. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Location is ok if you don't mind a walk but a little far from the old town.

Although the staff was really cool and created a nice relaxing atmosphere, on balance I would probably not stay here again. This is mainly because of the location (too far away from the centre) and because the place wasn't very clean, particularly the bathrooms.

this hostel is not really what i expected. a fair bit out of town and when its boiling hot its a bit of a struggle getting into town. the staff are really friendly and help you organise day trips which was fantastic (the best part about this hostel is the staff). the bathrooms were generally a bit dirty and wet. make sure you take mosquito repellant, im not sure what they were but when ur legs get bitten alive.

The only problem, is that it is a little bit far from the centre. but nothing that you wont do, has the hostel really deserves it. The couple who runs it, is very nice, and helpful, the guy even made a delicious apple pie for us. the breakfast is great! the kitchen, is well equipped. the rooms, are the usual bunks.. and the bathrooms do the job. there is wifi and a computer with internet. there is a nice esplanade where you can spend a some time relaxing under the shade of the trees.
