Hippo Lodge was a really great hostel. The woman on the front desk was very friendly and helped us book a rafting trip. It's a short walk up a steep hill to get there but it's definitely a hostel I would recommend.Hippo Lodge was a really great hostel. You have to be a mountain goat to not only get to the hostel, but to get to your room as well. There were over 30 steep steps to get to my room which was not an easy task taking luggage to and from the car. The good thing about the steep slope is you do have a nice view of the town. The choice is yours, but if you have a lot of stuff or don't feel like working out everyday just to get to your room look elsewhere.You have to be a mountain goat to not only get to the hostel, but to get to your room as well. Thanks for the stay. Would have been nice if there were more people from different places in the world than australia. All said very relaxed, perfect for getting to know other random people because it doesnt feen institutional like some other places.Thanks for the stay.
