The hostel locked at night requiring a key for entry. The location isn't too bad- a little difficult to find from the bus station. The staff was helpful; the owner was around quite a bit and was able to give us tips (a day trip to Trindade- amazing!) They also have a BBQ almost every night for $R 25 if you desire. Lots of bugs. Poor ventilation in bathroom. Toilet waste has to be put in a bin which was not emptied prior to our arrival, however, apart from that the hostal was very clean.Lots of bugs. Can't fault the location and it was very clean. Didn't like that there were no lockers and it was a bit dead. My partner and I were suppose to stay 3 days but ended up staying 6!! We loved this hostel and was the best we stayed in Brazil. The owner and workers are very helpful and loads of fun. The BBQ´s are great and this place has really good atmostphere. The place is a little worn, but it adds to the character, I would definatly stay here in Paraty.My partner and I were suppose to stay 3 days but ended up staying 6!! I liked everything in this hostel. The staff is amazing, the location unbeatable and the BBQ party is a great opportunuty to meet other people. The staff speaks english which makes everything a lot easier. Also they recommend great places and activities to do so definetely if I come back to Paraty I will chose this hostel again.
