It is a very big and clean ryokan although the building is not so new. I appreciated the fact that each futon dorm had its own privet toilets and the fact that the small onsen at each floor had low temperature (30d Celsius). There is also a real public onsen free of charge. 24h! No need to bring many things since this ryokan offers yukatas for rent, sell toothpaste..There were free earplugs my dorm room! Highly recommend, but if you are allergic to dust be prepared since wood futon=Sneeze!
This is everything you want in a hostel. The facilities are just gorgeous. The staff are superb. The atmosphere is fun, friendly, and easy going. The beds are comfortable. The onsen is clean. I cannot brag more about this awesome place.
Such a beautiful place to stay! The onsen was so relaxing.
The staff were absolutely excellent! Very helpful, and as a lone female traveller I feltlookedafeltlookedafter and safe!
The restaured building is amazing and onsen are great. In the center of Ito and a few minutes away from the beach. The people staying here were just amazing, I had a lot of fun here. Thank you very much
It's the most amazing hostel during our trip to Japan. I strongly recommend you to try their river-view rooms because sitting in the balcony just beside the beautiful river in a summer night is a dreamy experience. Also, the facilities in the room, the lounge and the kitchen are excellent too. The hostel has really fantastic location, about 700 meters away from Ito station, and near the sea.
Very friendly staff. Great hostel and well worth a visit but not much in Ito town itself
Maybe the best hostel in Japan. Beautiful location and an outstanding building. I had a really good time there.
Immaculate taste of traditional Japan but in a hostel setting so you can meet like-minded travellers. Beautiful building, quick walk from train station. Only problem with my stay was that I only stayed 1 night!
Has to be seen to be believed; hard to believe this is a hostel. So many different areas to hang out in, sitting on the river, just idyllic.
one of the best hostels, great onsen and beside lovely river with fish swimming
This place is amazing. Has everything that other K's House hostels have (comfy beds - and here they are tatami mats, even in the dorms; great common areas and kitchen; so clean) plus the hotspring baths! Beautiful setting on the river. Really friendly and helpful staff. The wood interior is such an interesting mix of antique and modern. I was amazed that it exceeded even my high expectations based on all the good things I heard from other travelers. Such a great place to relax for a few days.
There weren't many people around. But i'd still go there again because everything else about the hostel was perfect, you even have your own private onsen ;)
An amazing place. Built in a heritage building, with its own onsen available 24/7. Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. For value for money and facilities I don't think there is anything comparable. Staff are friendly, and it's on a nice quiet spot by the river. Definitely worth a visit.
This place is pretty amazing for a hostel. Gorgeous building, lots of common space, lovely onsen. Just don't leave the window open at night like my roommate did- lots of mosquitos on the water. Not too difficult to find or far from the shopping streets.
Beautiful building, extremely polite and helpful staff, friendly and generous atmosphere. Will recommend highly.

Hostelworld needs 1-10 rating system. I end up giving a lot of excellent ratings, when I really want to give a very good and save the excellent for places like this.
Very friendly staff, beautiful location. Will be back, as the traditional Japanese style really sets this place apart. Though there was construction across the river. Ito has some really good food and friendly shops. Nice break from tokyo and the larger cities.

This was a truly special stay. Wonderfully clean and perfectly as advertised. Thank you to the reception staff for your warm welcome and to staff member James for your cool stories and conversation!
