Has to be seen to be believed; hard to believe this is a hostel. So many different areas to hang out in, sitting on the river, just idyllic.

This place is amazing. Has everything that other K's House hostels have (comfy beds - and here they are tatami mats, even in the dorms; great common areas and kitchen; so clean) plus the hotspring baths! Beautiful setting on the river. Really friendly and helpful staff. The wood interior is such an interesting mix of antique and modern. I was amazed that it exceeded even my high expectations based on all the good things I heard from other travelers. Such a great place to relax for a few days.

There weren't many people around. But i'd still go there again because everything else about the hostel was perfect, you even have your own private onsen ;)

An amazing place. Built in a heritage building, with its own onsen available 24/7. Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. For value for money and facilities I don't think there is anything comparable. Staff are friendly, and it's on a nice quiet spot by the river. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is pretty amazing for a hostel. Gorgeous building, lots of common space, lovely onsen. Just don't leave the window open at night like my roommate did- lots of mosquitos on the water. Not too difficult to find or far from the shopping streets.

Hostelworld needs 1-10 rating system. I end up giving a lot of excellent ratings, when I really want to give a very good and save the excellent for places like this.

Very friendly staff, beautiful location. Will be back, as the traditional Japanese style really sets this place apart. Though there was construction across the river. Ito has some really good food and friendly shops. Nice break from tokyo and the larger cities.

This is one of those places that are so beautiful you'd rather not tell anyone about it!?

K's House Chain is the best and K's House is probably the best of all. Why? Because the atmosphere and the feel of Japanese Ryokan is very strong in this hostel, first you stayed in Old-wooden inn, second the aroma and sound of the wood are so enchanting, third, it has nice river view (The Matsukawa Trail), also offers Hot Spring Bath, you should go public bath (instead of private) as you will encounter Japanese people/other visitor and probably make a new friends. The Tokaikan is just beside it

In Japan it is usually impossible to stay at a high class place like this in such a good location for that little money! I'm definitely staying there again!
