Extremely clean and comfortable. Showers, toilets and bedding were all in good condition. Definitely reccommended.
Desk staff were amazing. Nothing too much trouble.
Dorm's were comfortable enough and pretty spacious. Downstairs bar and occasional live music was pretty useful when the weather was bad. Short walk to downtown Reykjavik but also only a minute walk away from Ban Thai (great Thai restaurant) and 20-25min walk from Laugardalur (where there are hot tubs).
Hlemmur Square is a very nice and clean hostel right outside of the main street in Reykjavik. It's only about a ten minute walk to all of the restaurants, pubs, and the main part of the city center. The 14 bed room was pretty nice and spacious. It's pretty clean, but the common area of the room tends to be a bit messy. Each bed has a locker, so there's plenty of rooms for all of your valuables. The toilets and showers are separate and both pretty clean.
its in a great location, clean and the staff are fantastic !
Beautiful hostel. Very open with lots of space for socialising. Comfortable rooms and a great kitchen space for cooking. Lovely staff to top it off!
What a great place to stay. Highly recommend this hostel. It was clean and welcoming. If you have a bit extra have a deluxe room they are DELUXE!!
The location was great and the hostel was clean. If you want to eat breakfast its around 12euros (it does look good but seems overpriced) and the bar downstairs is pretty pricey. I would stay here again, just remember to buy breakfast at the grocery (5 min walk to Bonus), and buy drinks at vinbudin (liquor store).
Very good hostel. Good wifi, good bar, good bed and good shower.
It is a safe, clean hostel, in a good location with great staff. I will definitely be staying there again on my next trip to iceland.
Great hostel, very helpful staff, I'd stay again
This is an amazing hostel. Perfect location for shopping and exploring. Staff was amazing and extremely helpful and friendly. Live music was played one night in the bar and it was a brilliant surprise! I would recommend this tp anybody.

Lovely place to stay, definately recommend, however dont book tours or tranfers through greyline bus, which they seem to be linked to, rather go with Reykjavik Excursions, much better value for money. Security was a poor rating as when i forgot my card anyone could have asked for it, not sure if new recpeion person or not, but was no id check. Also the kitchens are great, but needed more attention from staff especially e fridge Also place is very clean, however issue with flooded showers
I loved this hostel! Location was superb and honestly some of the friendliest staff I've come across in a long time. The beds were also the comfiest hostel beds I've ever slept in. Safe to say this place impressed me! The kitchen and fridge just needs to be cleaned more regularly, it got pretty grotty.
Hlemmur square felt more like a hotel than a hostel. The common area downstairs was warm and welcoming, the rooms were huge and beds were comfortable. Kitchen on every floor with plenty of utensils. Great place to make friends and you never feel lonely. Would stay there again for sure :)
Wonderful staff who were very willing to help. The reception area was very impressive, with lots of space to relax and socialise. Highly recommend.
The pictures on the website does not anyhow present the hostel. Kitchen was extremely dirty (4 night stay). Not cleaned even once. Bad location on toilets.Female toilet is located on the other side of the building,so you must pass the corrdior, staircase and finally approach another corridor. There is a pool table in the launge on the 4th floor, but I have not been informed about the facilities in the buildng. Therefore only accidently I have found out about that. Night staff was helpfull.
