I rated the staff as Very Poor as it is questionable if the place actually had any staff. They were almost impossible to find and once found were not helpful in any way. The breakfast was ok, the rooms have alot of character but are very damp and the showers are cold. we loved this place, very beautiful and evrything we wanted and more. The only downside was the kitchen which is only big enough for one person to cook at a time.Plus the staff didnt speak much english but they were very friendly.we loved this place, very beautiful and evrything we wanted and more. I think the Hostel Holandes has undergone a makeover since the time when guidebooks reviewed it. The rooms were clean, the mattresses etc. not moldy or musty at all.
