Hollywood Guesthouse Reviews

I booked months in advance but upon arriving at Hollywood Guesthouse they put me in another guest house in the same building. I complained and they said they would transfer me back to the Hollywood Guesthouse the next day. In the end I stayed in the new guest house because it has a refrigerator inside the room. whereas Hollywood did not.

Security is poor... The hostel is in two sections, one section can be accessed without the office staff being aware because they leave the main door open most of the time. Internet connection "goes down" regularly and Wi-Fi then needs resetting... Staff are not that keen to help. Staff are keen to do your laundry (at a price) but not how you ask, i.e. whites and colours separately, ironing etc.

TINY rooms but again I think this is normal for HK/China. Building itself is a little intemediating but room was clean, new towels every morning with hot water for shower. Guys at reception nice and did our laundry and also sorted our China visa for us which was a weight off our mind. If your looking for hostel atmosphere and meet new people this defiantly not for you but don't think many places exist in HK. We stayed Chinese New Year week and paid WAY over the odds.

The staff are fantastic and very willing to help. Given the Hostels in the same block, this one is definitely the cleanest, brightest and well kept.

Holywood hostel is a fine place within the ChungKing Mansion....which is a very strange place. But after a day or two you will understand and enjoy it. The HH offers value for money considering it's in the middle of HongKong. I had a single private room, without any window nor view. but it was OK

Great location and staff. Rooms are small but that's to be expected in Hong Kong

The price was decent, but know that double beds in Hong Kong (I've stayed in three different places and all the "double beds" were the same size) are small, they are the size of a western single bed+ half, not two singles put together. I did not know this before the trip. The room was clean and ready, the view was fantastic, overlooking Nathan Road and looking out toward the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
